Christ handed authority to Saint Peter the first Pope,
Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78050444 Mormons say Joseph Smith... Why did Christ immediately thereafter call the "first Pope" Satan? Why do you think you need a "Pope"? Jesus never said believe in that guy from Argentina. Christ called Peter Satan because when Christ told his apostles that He would go to Jerusalem to suffer and die, Peter refused to accept the Cross. He wanted a triumphant Messiah without a Cross. This is the essence of Satanism: Christianity without the Cross.
