Gold backed dollar? No, the USA has a military backed dollar. This, in combination with control of the oil through it being traded largely in USD and our stimulus supplied stock market, makes the dollar the safe haven. Giving the USA banking control over the world. Take away any one of those factors and of course acts of God and it would be a completely different world. Don't forget that the US is founded on European principals and by citizens from various countries around Europe. In his poem Human Pride, Marx admits that his aim is not to improve the world, reform or revolutionize it, but simply to ruin it and enjoy it being ruined: With disdain I will throw my gauntlet full in the face of the world, And see the collapse of this pygmy giant whose fall will not stifle my ardor. Quoting: EDI87 Being how western Europe does not align with American values anymore even though we(The USA) defended them in two world wars they still have zero gratitude and stiff the USA on their part in financing NATO. Far as I can tell Eastern Europe kicked out all the old Marxists back in the later 1970's and they fled to Western Europe which is why it looks more and more and more like Eastern European values seem to align more with America's values now as apposed to Western European values. Which by all measures seems to be more anti-christian and anti-freedom than they were just 30 years ago. Western Europe needs to grow the fuck up because they been sucking off the tit of American money and other aid for 70 years and being those Western European NATO nations are older than even the USA it's time they become adults and pull their own weight in the world. |

NILAW User ID: 72066783 United States 07/10/2018 12:11 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Interesting question, and begs the question as to whether NATO is obsolete, as argued in an article in The National Interest a few days ago: [link to nationalinterest.org] Clearly, the original purpose of NATO is not as pressing as it once was with the fall of the Warsaw Pact/Soviet Union. Is Russia not a threat at all? Does the US have no interests at all that are protected by NATO? I have a question; why did candidate Trump say NATO is obsolete and President Trump say NATO “is no longer obsolete”? This and other articles say that President Trump admitted he did not know much about NATO when he first called it “obsolete” when he was candidate Trump. [link to thehill.com] I don’t know if that is true, but something changed Trump’s mind, and it is important that we understand that before jumping to conclusions one way or the other about the US leaving NATO or it being obsolete, and specifically if it serves no interest critical to the US? I know I was not happy about other NATO members actions after the US invoked Article 5 after 9/11. Other NATO countries did not do their fair share for “collective defense”, but if the worst happens in Europe the US must be “all in”? Collective defense, one of the bedrock principles of NATO, cuts all ways. There is absolutely no issue about the NATO members not paying their fair share; it is not even close. Why in 2014 each NATO member had a decade to get to the 2% spending level is beyond me; it should be happening now, and other countries need to step up to the plate both in spending and having military equipment battle ready, in addition to true “collective defense”. As I said this is an interesting question, and I would love to hear why Trump changed his mind. |

As I said this is an interesting question, and I would love to hear why Trump changed his mind. Trump is surrounded by people who are pro NATO and they influence him, to some degree. That stupid bombing of of Syria is an example of his being influenced. Ultimately, he seems to revert back to his own ideas, though, and I think that accounts for his NATO stance, now, and Europe being worried the US will pull out. NATO is nothing but a tool of aggression of the globalists. It needs to go.
