Question, is the clear space that our SS may or may not move into if or when it punches through the clouds one and the same as what lies beyond the Dark Rift itself, or are we possibly punching out the side of the Orion MW band?

i.e., is the superwave/cloud from the video of this thicker, more charged dust, plasma or whatever the same 'bug smear on the windshield' that blocks our view of the MW galaxy? Is the Dark Rift a space within or in between MW bands or the optical illusion of that space created by dust clouds covering the space?

By 'bug smear' I'm referring to what earthsky.org says: "Thick dust clouds block our night-time view of the Milky Way, creating what is sometimes called the Great Rift or Dark Rift."

I'm having trouble seeing the knothole in the forest for the trees.
