Never-before seen photos of the moon landing

These are NOT 'Never-before-seen'

Go to NASA's flickr archive section for the Apollo program, and there are reel upon reel of all the photos taken from the early Apollos right up to Apollo 17.
Around 150 photos on most reels - ALL these pics are in there, plus THOUSANDS more.

I do astronomy and space presentations for all kinds of groups, and one of my most popular is 'Apollo 11, in their own pictures' - using photos from these reels.
I also include some 'mistakes' in there - accidental photos of the ground, etc... - to show that the astronauts are'nt infallible, just like the rest of us.

Hmm, first photo, go right of the rock, a bit above the boot. Is that a section of a tape measure? It has a shadow. Weird.

It seems like these photos were released on purpose because they have UFOs in them.

What a load that “mission” was/is.

The flag has absolutely no shadow. Everything else in the picture has a shadow, even the cable running along the ground that is about as thick as the flag pole.

How do you know what time the UFO showed up?

There is NO DUST...look at the feet of the Lunar Module.

That thing lands in my garden and surely gets dirty.

Anyhoo, are you suggesting that they didn't use a real flag on the set?

I still see no shadow - just the flag flapping merrily in the breeze - no shadow

We went several times over several years. There's nothing there.

the shadow of the flag is off to the right. The shadow of the flagpole can clearly be seen.

I know Earth is only 27% larger than the moon but I always thought it would have looked huge viewed from the Moon.

And the award to the first man on the moon goes to... the unknown photographer who obviously got there before the landing and was all set up to take the picture of the first step.

Congratulations to this unknown photographer!!!

27% of what? - Radius? Diameter? Circumference? Surface area? Volume? Weight?

The Moon from the Earth takes up about 1/2 a degree of the field of view. The Earth from the Moon takes up about 2 degrees. Do the math with the lens used and you'll find the Earth is the size it should be.
