When did these posts disappear?

when the new format we have now was created the old was lost.

GLP didn't always look like this.

I's really love to reread the WTF Guys posts from the crash of 2008. That guy predicted EVERYTHING.

Well, very occasionally, whenever I FIND an old fragment post which happens to have survived, and bump it, I noticed that some of them then disappear. I cannot find them ever again. 2005 seems to be the cutoff year for many posts, there doesn't seem to be ANYTHING prior, and that is sad to me, in that, from the period of approx. 1999 to 2005, those were some of the GOLDEN years on here, with 9/11 being the Zenith of activity on here. It would be so fascinating to see those posts again, maybe a special page could be created on here. What would the costs be to do such a thing and could we crowd-fund it if possible?

Anyone know?

I'm keenly aware of that & have screen-saves to prove it.

What I want to know is, WHERE did those old posts go?

Weren't they saved somewhere? Server tapes? CD-Roms? Anything???

I may have many saved on CD-Rom but those boxes are in storage, at the bottom of all the floor-to-ceiling packed boxes of archives of everything I've saved over the years.

Ideally, if anyone else was on here back in the day, and may have done the same (screen-saves & saving files), perhaps we could start a page here on GLP with what we've possibly archived of the site.

Ya I can't find any of my old pinned threads anymore.... kinda sad. Hoping the gulp didn't get juice spilled all over it. I mean, 5-95% I can deal with, es tipical.... but 95-100% and im more than likely to throw a shit fit

An archive system of past thought/discussion was always what I thought made glp near to if not the best. Totally reconsidering rightaboutnow. 8ch ain't so bad rofl.

God, if someone could post a link to that Thread it would be awesome. He was definately an insider and spoke in riddles but we worked it out and it proved true. Awesome days.

One trick is to use in the “future” is use a really specific obscure name when you post; that way if you ever forget you know a string to search that will only bring up your posts...

Weird indeed. This period was also when GLP had google spiders archiving as well before the membership sign up wall and everything was open.

I probably have some old threads in my favorites (when I eventually signed up after lurking for a few years) , I can look and see, try to bump something?
