Love the analogy. ST claims the earth is a living breathing organism.

**Terra/Earth Is A Living Being ... Which Is Conscious & Aware !! ... Knowing Of Things, Which Those On It's Surface Does Not !! ... It Understands ... Feels Pain/Suffering ... And Tries To Be ... The Gracious Host !!

**However It Too Will Go Into "Survival Mode" ... To Protect Itself ... & It's Energies/Life Forces !!

I suggest its a machine of intelligent design.

**It Is NOT A "Machine" !! ... Though It Was Intelligently Created/"Grown" !!

And it does expand.

I don't believe it ever contracts back again though.
