Jesus' Baptism

Matthew 3

16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

Mark 1

9 And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan.
10 And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending
upon him:
11 And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

-----------------------------------------------------
Jesus' Transfiguration

Matthew 17

4 Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
5 While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.
6 And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were sore afraid.
7 And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid.

Luke 9

33 And it came to pass, as they departed from him, Peter said unto Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and
let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias: not knowing what he said.
34 While he thus spake, there came a cloud, and overshadowed them: and they feared as they entered into the cloud.
35 And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.
36 And when the voice was past, Jesus was found alone. And they kept it close, and told no man in those days any of
those things which they had seen.

The Supremacy of Christ

Colossians 1

15Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: 16For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. 18And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. 19For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell; 20And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

You are overlooking the "firstborn of every creature".

Is the interpretation of what Paul says more important than what Jesus actually says?

Or is John's "commentary" / understanding more important than what Jesus actually says?

To understand Jesus, don't we HAVE TO look at what He said FIRST..and ACCEPT IT 100%?

Have you ever read a "red letter" Bible (Christ's words highlighted in red). It makes a difference.

Stop arguing with the bible!

St. Mark 13:32 But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.

St. John 21:17 He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

Is Peter a liar or just sucking up or is Jesus a liar or why not rebuke Peter? How do you reason this? If your answer can be supported scripturally then great. But if not that's ok with me too.

Nobody knows.

Anybody claiming they know the truth about the God-Head is lying.

It's by faith, it's still all a mystery until the 7th Angel blows his trumpet.

1. The Mark verse is but ONE that proves Jesus is NOT the Father Himself.

2. John 21:17 has NOTHING to do with the topic at hand. Your using it as an ATTEMPT to say that Jesus DOES KNOW when He's going to return.

I'm not arguing with the Bible. I take exception with the way CERTAIN humans have interpretated it.

WHY do YOU argue against what Jesus actually TELLS US?

Lying?

Nope.

The only thing that I am claiming is what Jesus TOLD us...that He is....

...the Son of God.

Did Jesus not say this?

John 10:36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world,
Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?

You don't know though, do you?

You are going by feeling, even by faith.

Have you ever met God face to face, and lived?

Then you don't know who God is.

God and Jesus are a mystery until the 7th trumpet blows.

That's fact.

Until then, nobody knows who God is, except that Messiah is Jesus, son of Mary and Joseph, Son of God.

God even says in His Word He will give Himself a new name.

Riddle me that, Jesus not wanting to be called Jesus.

You can't... Hence, the mystery of God.

I will say that the grace that the Spirit of Truth provides for those adopted into God's family is sufficient for all instruction and teaching.

However, some things are designed to be a mystery until their proper time of unveiling.

I know enough that I have 100% Belief that BOTH God the Father....and His Son Jesus exist.

I trust them FULLY.

The Bible tells us enough about both of them, AND what they said centuries in the past, for us to have a basic understanding of them.

It is sufficient for Salvation.

Are there mysteries? Yes...but they don't matter in our earthly existence.

JESUS
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78340401

Jesus speaking in Revelation

Revelation 3:12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out:

and I will write
upon him the name of my God
,

and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God:

and I will write upon him my new name

That's 2 names.

1. The name of Jesus' God - the Father - Our God.

2. Jesus own 'new name'.

This ties into both John 17 and John 20:17.
