Quoting: Archer7 Well there is no such thing! In that if you make an abstract concept of it, then you are just adding another layer of obscuration to your mental onion of layers of pointless garbage we wrap ourselves in thinking this is ourselves, when really it's just illusionary abstract conceptualization |

I said: Withdraw now from The invisible pounding and weaving Of your ingrained ideas. If you want to be rid of this Invisible turmoil, you must just sit Through it and let go of everything. Attain fulfillment and illuminate thoroughly. Light and shadow altogether forgotten. Drop off your own skin, And the sense-dusts will be fully purified. The eye then readily discerns the brightness. - Hongzhi Zhengjue (1091–1157) |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 76728810 Philippines 08/02/2018 11:40 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | maybe enlightenment means different things to different people. Quoting: SynchronicityFan I like to receive messages through real words. It is the fastes way to pass on input, while delivering a mood at the same time. Yes, no - you are describing an opposing effect of "Awakening". Things have no meaning whatsoever, it is only our delusion that assigns meanings to things. Something as simple as seeing a tree and having your brain go "tree", in an uncontrollable, exaggerated way. The danger here is the risk of becoming one of those folk who wander city streets talking to the air. It's, like.. mild dementia, from a psychological perspective. Whereas to walk the path of "Enlightenment", to "Awaken", involves no longer assigning any kind of abstract meaning to anything. Thus, you no longer allow your brain to "dream" up a narrative for whatever it is you are experiencing - therefore, you "awaken", see? These things that your brain is doing, they are just things you are experiencing, they aren't the "real you". All of that being said, the movie "The Book of Eli" is exactly as you describe, buddy is getting instruction from his randomized playlist on his old timey apple device, if you pay attention. Also listening to the instructions of the world itself, at some points, such as the under the bridge scene near the beginning, when he lets the woman live. There is also nothing permanent in the mind, no permanent self.. understand impermanence objectively and experience it existentially.. one with the truth of impermanence, one with reality~ BTW Seb, that movie was a decent action flick bruh.. lol Until you realize "Eli" = "Lie"~ |
