judahbenhuer User ID: 75047855 United States 08/07/2018 04:23 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It's still too far out to predict what it will do. Red sirens aren't called for right now. Quoting: Spelurker All the people will do there anyway is go to Costco and buy up all the bottled water, rice, and every can of SPAM in all their differing flavors. If it turns out to have a projected direct track through the islands, all people can do is hope their roofs hold. It has happened before, it will happen again. What's the weird fascination with Hawaii on GLP anyway? It won't affect the lives of the vast majority of people who come on GLP. I do have family there, and I'm not alarmed. Tell me when it's a few days away with a direct track through the islands. Until then, it's just more noise. Fixed! “My religious belief teaches me to feel as safe in battle as in bed. God has fixed the time for my death. I do not concern myself about that, but to be always ready, no matter when it may overtake me. That is the way all men should live, and then all would be equally brave.” -Stonewall Jackson "The Bible that is falling apart usually belongs to a person who is not." - Charles Spurgeon “I apprehend no danger to our country from a foreign foe . . . Our destruction, should it come at all, will be from another quarter. From the inattention of the people to the concerns of their government, from their carelessness and negligence, I must confess that I do apprehend some danger. I fear that they may place too implicit a confidence in their public servants, and fail properly to scrutinize their conduct; that in this way they may be made the dupes of designing men, and become the instruments of their own undoing. Make them intelligent, and they will be vigilant; give them the means of detecting the wrong, and they will apply the remedy.” “If we abide by the principles taught in the Bible, our country will go on prospering and to prosper; but if we and our posterity neglect its instructions and authority, no man can tell how sudden a catastrophe may overwhelm us and bury all our glory in profound obscurity.” -Daniel Webster |

Can anybody tell me how commercial flights deal with a hurricane? Will we just fly around it or over it or what? The forecast says by then the center should be on the south side of the Big Island. Quoting: docsquat When flying, remember...think happy thoughts! “My religious belief teaches me to feel as safe in battle as in bed. God has fixed the time for my death. One degree north, can bring it into the big island. In the link below, he shows two space energy anomalies that come very close to both the Japanese typhoon that is threatening Tokoyo and Hector headed close to Hawaii. Both anomalies reach across the globe. It would be very interesting to know more about these. Last Edited by Account Deleted by User on 08/08/2018 03:43 PM |

I mean...if the outer bands got wider because of heat from the water, maybe? This is just a wild card right now. Friday, it looked like a hit on the North side of the island. Today, 150 miles south. Things change fast with hurricanes. Last night, on the Facebook update, they were discussing the heated waters' possible effect on the storm. Philip Ong said at the ocean entry, the water is only hot for a foot or so down. Below that, the water is more of a normal ocean temp. That is surprising to me. I would've thought the lava would bring the temp up much more.
