He seems to be displeased about having served under "Republicans."
Maybe "got in a hometown jam so they put put a rifle in his hand." Never heard one talk like he does about the President, except maybe LBJ.
I knew one who stayed in the corps long enough to learn how to manipulate people. He's in prison now for jailbait maneuvers while married with 3 kids.

Re: Greetings!
When are we going to abandon the "energy can't be created" myth; what will it take?
 Quoting: Fret Wiz

In my understanding of energy it is the same as perspective. When two things interact in our (single) perspective, then we have energy. When geometry and motion interact then we have visible light, for example.

When the two most fundamental kinds of information (relationships and interactions) come together we get something that can be perceived.

The alternating positive and negative energy flows form a resistance that can be perceived as something (energy).

There is no need to 'create' energy because energy is irrelevant to creation or destruction. It is more like a shift in perspective. We only know energy by perceiving it, and this why we can't see it being created or destroyed.
 Quoting: Kore

Could you explain this a little more? One gets visible light from burning something that creates a flame, or from running electric current thru an LED.
 Quoting: Rosenkrantz

(emphasis mine)

running = motion
electric current = electromagnetism = geometry

geometry in motion = energy

On the other hand, one can be moving and bang into a wall in the dark, and it's still dark; no light was created. So this doesn't seem right to me.
 Quoting: Rosenkrantz

Re: Greetings!
...

By "potential" what do you mean?
 Quoting: Kore

Similar to your "perspective."
Voltage is a measure of potential. If you jump from a sidewalk to the street, force is applied. Jump from the top of building, more force, different perspective.
All matter is energy at a certain frequency and density.
 Quoting: hillbilly

What might we call the application of potential?

(In my understanding, the sidewalk would be the same perspective as the top of the building.)

Is there any matter outside of perspective?
 Quoting: Kore

You expended less energy walking from the street to the sidewalk, therefore less potential, closer perspective.
Climb to the top of the building, you no longer see the little cracks in the pavement, until you jump.
Remember the Matrix "jump program?" Trust me kids when I say real pavement isn't so forgiving.
Pavement 1, Potential 0.
 Quoting: hillbilly

Perspective remains the same, just as vision would.

Perspective is more of the being of reality rather than what you appear to experience.

With our vision we can go from seeing a bicycle to the car, but our vision itself would not change. (Perspective is more fundamental, though, so this isn't really a good analogy.)

Re: Greetings!
Is space not relative??

 Quoting: Uvio

I suppose if we think of space as being measurable, sure.

But what would "all space" be relative to? It would only be relative if we pretend to divide it up and say that some parts have a different value than others.

When you look at the sun, how far away is it? Millions of miles? No. It's as close as your perspective. There is no space between the sun and your perspective because it is "your sun" so to speak. You can only experience "your sun" and its reality is entirely in your reality.

Scientists know that space (and time) are illusions but don't seem to care about it that much, perhaps because they would then need to find a way to measure consciousness and integrate it into their equations.

If one toe is longer than an other, it is only because the reality of the 'longer toe' is exhibited everywhere throughout the universe in different forms.

The most basic expression of this is the chaos/order equation. It might be obvious that a toe is bigger, but what is made smaller to 'fill in the gap' of the universal equation?

I figure each amino acid is a certain kind of protocol that acts as a building block for the body. The protocol is not written upon organic matter, but instead organic matter is organized according to the protocol. The structure is not the mechanical organization of proteins and elements, but the patterns that arise in the ordering of these things is a representation of how these elements relate.

Re: Greetings!
I want to perceive alien contact and higher beings interactions as normal.
 Quoting: Uvio

Forget about higher beings. I don't think they consider themselves as such, as we all seem to have pros and cons.

A few years ago we mentioned on the other thread about how about half the population in Chaol's world was androgynous. This was years before all the stuff you see going on now in this world, and I think there has been some bleed-through. It's not something I think would be called "advanced" because it's really a kind of self-genocide.

I've not shared this anywhere, but I think staring into candle flames may have made my mind more flexible and open to such contact. I also would watch up to an hour of just plain white static like this:

I'm not sure exactly what it did for my brain personally, but usually after about 10 minutes or so I would begin to have interesting experiences. I noticed a change in my normal reality, too. It became more flexible.

Perhaps another way to ask would be: How might I perceive what you perceive, without being you?
 Quoting: Uvio

You can't. Even if you were suddenly 'me' it would automatically become a different experience, and your interpretation and 'memory' of it would be different.

We often experience this when we're dreaming. We experience one reality in our dream but when we awaken we interpret it from the waking state with physical objects and other markers we know from our waking experience (that are not at all experienced in the dream world).

Re: Greetings!
The idea is to perceive less and find the patterns in the less that is perceived.

All would exist within that 'less', as all would be folded within it (potential, as some might call it. But really it's just a formula that we perceive, not 'something'.)

When your focus is on just a few things it is much easier than trying to "figure out everything"

You might find that a simple chair is a specific resistance between chaos and order, or expansion and contraction. Or you might find something else.
 Quoting: Kore

Ah yes, I see how if I perceive less then everything is represented in that "smaller" perception. I sort of envision it like a "smaller surface area" which makes it easier to "map" or "chart a course through it".

Are there drawbacks to perceiving less?
 Quoting: Uvio

More power, I suppose. I resisted it for a number of years, I think, because I knew that I may not be able to handle it. I eventually gave in and it became normalized.

When you're able to 'fold' your experience into efficient representations it's like being on adrenaline. You seem to know things before they happen, or get a 'sense' of things. You could very well run through a busy crowd without bumping into anyone. Answers appear out of nowhere (because they're already folded in your experience). It's a weird feeling, but very powerful at the same time. You may be tempted to use it with others and may end up with a less rewarding experience because of it.

I suppose it's like 'Limitless' in some ways.

How does it feel to have all those IQs?
**Answer:
Lonely.

You should give each IQ point a name and imagine them starting a fun little colony together on a metaphysical island called Colony X.

Yes.

 Quoting: Uvio

There's no such thing as 'non-physical'.

Everything is physical, because perspective is.

Light is physical, as are electromagnetic waves (if that is your thing).

There are different 'flavors' of physicality, though, just as there are different flavors of brown eyes (blue, black, hazel, chestnut, green, etc)

Re: Greetings!
When looking at yourself in the mirror, which you is really you?
 Quoting: Black Fly

Are you really looking at yourself? Or even your physical form?

When you talk to a friend on the phone, are you listening to their voice or a representation of it?

When you look at your hand, are you really doing just that?

The illusions have their own reality because only illusions exist.

'Hot' is the relationship between both a 'hot' and 'cold' and has no meaning by itself. One cannot be defined without the other. "Hot" is an illusion, and exists only in relationship with its supporting illusion. You can never have "absolute cold" just as you could never say, "this is really who I am".

All of reality is this relationship between illusions, given real life by interaction

I suppose I could say that the "other toe" got smaller, but I think that I would change my phrasing now. I would say now that the longer toe has become more relative and so might seem bigger, or perhaps the other toes became less relative and so appear smaller.

But even that, I know, is a primitive way to say it.

Thanks for the input.
