blocking people from posting in your threads?
How is this done? How do you reverse it? How do you know who you blocked?

I don't think i've ever blocked someone from posting in my threads, but just got this red karma...

"I have your answer but you blocked me from posting on your threads - tried twice, can post in other threads, so ..."

thanks for any insight into this process

Maybe if they're on your "do not like list"?

Also, if they post someone on your thread you can delete the post.

As far as I know, it's still something only upgraded members can do. There will be an "add user to personal bans" link under each poster's name if you're upgraded. You can remove people from your ban list by clicking "personal bans" on the left side of the screen in the Welcome area. It was probably just someone who was using a censorword in their post and thought you had blocked them.

that makes sense

and that makes even more sense. Hopefully the person who gave me red will see this and try posting again experimenting with what caused the failure.

Yes, you likely have them on your personal bans list, and that's why they can't post. What happens if you add someone to ignores? Do you stop seeing their posts altogether? Will have to test it out sometime.

No, he's not upgraded, neither are you. It wasn't because of anything he did, nor was it blocked because someone was in his personal bans list. It was like I said, and the poster decided to blame the OP. That's not how it works though; if the OP has banned you the system will explicitly tell you that's why you can't post in their threads.

The ignore function doesn't stop them from posting on your thread. OP, no doubt, the poster was probably hitting a word ban. for example, you can't say I>>N>>C>>E>>L or your post won't be accepted.
I don't have the time or the crayons to explain this to you.

Ahh the old calling him a [deleted by word filter] ploy! chuckle

Someone actually did block me once for posting an opposing viewpoint in their thread and backing it with facts--the nerve of me to do that!! I got some myBB generated message about being banned from posting in his thread by OP.
