Christ on a cracker! I've been exposed to Scarlet Fever!

I hear the modern day version is called Scarlatina. It's a far less severe case than the old day Scarlet Fever... it's only something to worry about if you're not paying attention or immunocompromised.

Our youngest son who is 8 had in this past winter. It was nasty going through it, 105+ fever and crazy rash, but after a few days he was good. Hopefully no long term issues, but obviously the goal is to keep yourself/your kids away from those with strep.

That's what happened to me. I went in with that rash and the doctor said I must have had strep and didn't even know it. That happens sometimes, that you can get strep but not feel ill at all. I have no clue why or how, but if left untreated, it can lead to scarlet fever. I was little, so i don't remember much, but I don't think i felt sick, itchy, or ouchie at all - just had that horrible rash.

So, where did you buy these crackers that gave you Scarlet Fever?

As a former flight crewmember, BELIEVE it...there are MANY very, very nasty bugs out there, and OH SO very nearby.

With the advent of non-stops of 18 hours connecting many, many cities with the likes of Singapore...it's a matter of hours from true disaster.

Back in the day, it was only Los Angeles and New York really, and there were "sanitation" procedures, literally witnessed by health inspectors upon arrival...BEFORE anyone got off.

Now, it's a quick turn and ZERO cleaning of the cabins and right back to where they came from.

Note the "bedbug" issue with Air India. Tray tables are the petri dish of unheard of nasty. Seat cushions that have been pissed in and left to dry...never removed or cleaned. Lavatory containment systems that are left to fill up over days, because the capacity is built in for efficiency.

I could go on and on, and have stories to tell for days. I'm no longer shocked or surprised and some of the new stories that friends tell me.

We used to stash vodka minis and hoard them as sanitizer...on a long haul it's not unheard of using a dozen on yourself...one trip. I would also strip in the garage before entering the house and the clothing NEVER went inside nor through the washer...I let the dry cleaners handle it...and a couple of times, I would just throw out the outfit due to some nasty problem or other.

Truth.

Think the worst regarding germs/illness and you'd be about right.

NEVER, NEVER touch your face...ever.

Or worse, jungle fever.

Go pet an armadillo, the leprosy will counteract it. Or was it malaria that counteracted syphilis...?

I don't know how one would protect oneself from having this
unfortunate "hit" of cosmic rays since these things are
so minute that they pass even through the core of the Earth
--there really is no way you could avoid it...just luck of
the "draw." Glad there is an apple cider treatment that can
be given, however. I'm off to the grocery store to get my
bottles just in case....we have a SEVERE HEAT warning
(gamma ray burst caused?) for today and tomorrow up in
NW Montana...upwards of 106 to 110 degrees is predicted
and I have NO CLUE how to avoid this (except in a basement!)

I hope you're feeling better soon. I was at emerge last week, unfortunately it seems I caught some nasty plague while there but I'm trying to fight it naturally for now. I give myself 2-3 more days and I will go get antibiotics too. I think it's a sinus bug or walking pneumonia kind of thing. Yes, we are under siege by microbes. Kill them before they kill you ;)

I've always had allergies and upper respiratory conditions. A post nasal drip usually leads to strep throat for me, very quickly. A fever on top of that means that your body is trying to fight off an extreme infection. I rarely get fevers, but when I first get the symptoms of strep throat; I take the following and it knocks it out in 2 to 4 days.

Mix the following and gargle 4 times a day:

1 cup white vinegar
1 cup lemon juice
3 cups water
1/4 cup honey

I store the remainder in the fridge to keep it fresh.

The above changes the PH of the throat and doesn't allow the strep to multiply and therefore, the bodies defenses can quickly knock it out of a person's system...

I'm all geared up for this next season of gack. I'm so prepared, I was prepared for this season by the end of the last flu an cold season.

My client, her boyfriend, and his father all had some kind of stomach virus a few weeks ago. I'm very glad I didn't get that, they all three had it coming outta both ends, all projectile-like. Something wicked this way has came to New Mexico...I'll be lucky to get through that virus unscathed.

But strep really isn't anything at all to fool around with. It truly has to be killed off....

I'm having to cut out sugar....but I do have 30 ppm Colloidal Silver throat spray I'm using regularly the past day. I've upped my D3K2 a bit since this virus has been around. I took 50,000 IUs when I got home from the clinic yesterday...heh, that's probably what knocked out the fever and swollen glands. I'm just now taking my second antibiotic, and I'll take 20,000 more IUs with it.

I don't want to get too cocky, but I'm thinking I'm not going to get really sick like some have posted here about how they did.

I just realized...HA! I can tell YOU! Maybe you'll understand!

This morning after I woke up I had this very happy growing feeling in me....I mean it, it made me feel like skipping about.

And then I realized the joy I was feeling was due to me preparing to "go," I felt like I was readying myself to "fly the coup," so to speak. I was all in that energy, thinking of nothing else, just hippy-skippy happy with anticipation.

And then I thought about everyone else, and my good times feeling crumbled....so, you see, this is why your timely words hit me so hard.

It's just been lately, the past few months, I've been thinking about just letting go of life. Then I feel bad for feeling that. I chose to be here, and I've also chosen to stay here (I could've left in Aug. 2008). I'm here for a reason...but still that's been in my thoughts the past few months. I'm wondering though if that isn't an worn out mantra, "I'm hear for a reason. I'm hear for a reason. I'm hear for a reason," one that's long for tossing out.

That feeling this morning, it was so free...I felt so excited at what was coming.

And, to be very honest, Cherished, I do like that feeling so much better than the pit of pain I feel between my heart and my gut now.

There's too much pain here. Too much confusion. Too many lost souls. Way too many without souls.

At a fundamental level of my being....I just don't want to be here much more.

It makes me incredibly sad...and while I don't feel like I'm giving up, I do feel a failure. I really don't think things were supposed to get this far, this deep in stanky darkness. "We" could've done better, or somehow tried harder. Somehow.

I really don't know what anyone can tell me right now, to snap me out of this woe, but I've finally done said it. I'm owning it right now--

I'm fucking tired, and I'd really like to go home now.

So hard for me to admit this, because I really do love Humanity with all my heart, but I don't think we're ever going to get over our ease with brutality, as a collective we're still waaay too "dense"....

I'd really just like to throw my consciousness backpack over my shoulder, and move on now. The wild wind is calling, and I want to hitch a ride on it out of here.
