I have seen posts here and heard multiple times in conversation over the years that women old enough to have been of age + prior to the internet that men have become absolutely perverted and sadistic with the widespread manifestation of porn.

Now naturally this is a no-brainer. But here is my question:

Seeing as the booty is, you know, right there where it is, did men en masse really just never ask, women offer, etc? I understand that pornography, condoms, and lubricant are in the same relative, depraved time frame, but I'm just curious what men were like in relation to anal prior to all of this, which culminates in the present-day obsession with anal, et al.
