A few possibilities: Could just be a publicity stunt. Could be that there is a lack of trust in the existing military so they are starting this one from scratch and also "space." Could be a crony wants to be chief of a military service so ... "space." Could be they are going to be doing something so extensively and obviously military they can't hide it, can't put it under NASA, but still why a new space command? Unless its even more extensive than that and actually merits a new branch of service - like actual military space fleet for stealing oil from other planets. In addition to the latter, could be they are going to be doing massive recruiting. Again, this would be military in nature or they would just put it under NASA. Maybe NASA pissed off Trump. I know they pissed me off and I had a conversation with him about them. Maybe he is throwing me a bone on this one. Maybe lots of intellectual property stealing NASA pedo ingrates are going to loose jobs and go to prison! YAY!!!!! Since Trump plays 10^5D chess it could be all of the above.
