Question concerning letter about a traffic violation...help!
So I received a letter stating I got a ticket for traffic violations in 2003. The letter is from a debt collector. The letter stated that this was there 2nd attempt in contacting me regarding the bill. Also stating that if I don’t pay it my license could be suspended or warrant issued. How is this possible when I don’t know anything about this??!! That was 15 years ago. I don’t remember anything like this. Would a city issue a third party bill collector to demand a payment. Sorry if these seems ignorant but I was just curious to know if this is true. Any thought

Tell him to send a copy of the ticket. Otherwise it’s a scam.

From 2003? Your license would have been suspended by now. Sounds like a scam.

Yup.

And when they say that they have no record, you can ignore it.

Or just fuck with the scam artists for a while, if you are so inclined.

Thanks everyone! It gave me a number I could contact. It’s web address is msbselfservice.com. Offense 532-disregard traf-dev-stop. Company is MSB. Municipal Service Burea. Just reread it. It says my license is suspended in Jacksonville FL. I have to contact Duval County clerk to reinstate my license. I’ve never lived in Florida! Ticket violation date is 2003. I’ll call tomorrow

Don't call the number they gave you.

Find out what the real number is and call it.

Re: Question concerning letter about a traffic violation...help!
it’s better to pay bills online nowadays

scammers are even sending out fake water bills and such, looking just like the real thing, they’ll send out anything that is normally found in a mailbox

with ones like this traffic violation they are counting on fear to make you hurry up and pay

google their names and phone numbers, they’ll likely come up as scams

I also check my credit card charges every week or so, just a couple of years ago I got a parking fee charged in Kansas while I was living way down here, it was only like $8 but they are doing this all over 24/7 and making money, my cc company knows where I live so they removed it
Forgive your enemies, it messes with their heads.
