Devin Riley did not know what was coming after giving a nationally-televised interview regarding the July 18 disappearance of University of Iowa student Mollie Tibbetts.

“Long stares and uncomfortable moments at the store” are just the beginning, Riley said.


“Being called {everything from} a pervert to a killer was not what I expected to hear from the public as I was only recounting what I remember from that night,” Riley said.

Something is very strange with this case.

I think the authorities know where she is at.

I agree, I also think her Dad thinks she is with someone she knows.

The comments he and her brother made about when she gets back they are going to make her watch all the news casts and take down all the missing flyers is odd to me.

She’s still missing, its not a joke any way you look at it.

This is a great thread. I do have a few things that I think are a bit off.

The amount of the reward money collected is so large. I read that it's almost $300,000. Mollie is from a small town, it seems like an awful lot of money raised in a short amount of time.

And what about all the other missing people in IA? No attention at all for any of them.
I'll never understand why some are chosen by the media and others are completely ignored.

Then there's the many interviews given by her father. He gave away lots more information than LE. In fact there was supposed to be a press conf. on Tuesday but LE canceled it to Friday and now canceled again until Monday??

I'm not sure what to think about the pig farmer. At first I thought he was the one because of the interview where he kept touching his face and appearing quite guilty, after listening to Mollie's father, I think it must be someone else. Someone her father has in mind.

I agree, I think the Dad knows or thinks he knows who it is.

Probably someone she knows.

The Dad has made the comment that “they” are in over their heads and don’t know how to get out of it now.

One of the things that sticks out to me is the that she was supposed to have dinner with her Mom and never showed up.

My Mom would have called me, then called my friends, then would have called the police if I didn’t show up when I said it would.

Yes, she was a college student, but she was back home, and they discussed dinner plans.

At least go to the house to see if she’s there?

She had no car where she was so that meant she would have to be picked up if she decided to go out.

It’s just the FBI profiler info in OP, I hate when they exaggerate !

They do have info they are giving on Monday though.

The family believes she got into a car with someone she knows.

They cancelled presser today and scheduled it for Monday now.

It wasn’t much, expect for the fact that LE will announce new info.

If the family believes she got into a car with someone she knows, then they must know who was driving. So, the driver must be missing also? Why not just name him/her? This is where the public would be able to help.

Exactly, maybe LE is telling them not to?

Maybe they checked the person out and they are not missing?

You would think LE would tell them not to spread bad info if it’s just a pipe dream they are holding onto.

Maybe they are trying to locate them through credit cards?

Unless that person is mentally unstable and they do not want to get him nervous.

Could be a hostage situation.

So many variables here.

Bottom line ... if she knew him - they would have a list of suspects and interview them.

They instead looked into a guy who said he saw her jogging that night and a pig farmer.

I looked up a few of them on Facebook. Some were nasty people. Appeared to be troublemakers and runaways. A few on the list were found; they were runaways.

Remember the gal they found last week who was found 100 miles away from Brooklyn, Iowa? She was dead. The only reason she was in the news is because the media first thought she was Mollie Tibbetts. The reports were about a man arrested for leaving the scene of an accident. The truth is that it was the girl's boyfriend. They had an argument, and she jumped out of his moving car. He drove away.

I think Mollie Tibbetts has been in the news because she had a lot of friends who cared; she is a good person. Sqeaky clean. Her friends and family have Facebook pages with hundreds of good comments about her. They kept her in the news. The others "missing" in Iowa have not done the same.

Monday to Friday and now Monday, as far as I know.

I think you're correct

that is ridiculous people go missing every minute in all sorts of circumstances, child sex trafficking knows no lmts.

No, I respectfully disagree. If they knew where she was at they would end the investigation immediately.

I'm not going to discredit that she could be with someone she knows but perhaps against her will? I don't know...just really odd.

Not if she was taken hostage by a mentally unstable person.
