Quoting: tcs Some people are so afraid of dying that they push it out of their minds even when they're up there in their late 70's or even 80's. Most people realize that we've been given a limited time on this ride we call life. It's in our nature to ignore the obvious. I mean, how depressing would it be to sit around all day knowing that our last dying breath is coming and we'll fight for it as hard as a drowning man fights for his/hers. Yeah, some go peacefully in their sleep but not many. Even when the mind accepts its fate, the body keeps fighting the inevitable. You're right in a way... I was suffering from extreme anxiety and daily panic attacks at age 7 when the reality hit me that I will die one day... That thought nearly scared me to death itself... I have to accept and embrace it now..we all do...no escape... Depressing but, it's reality... |

Quoting: ~Blue Spirit~ Near drowning in our home pool as a toddler... dad saved me, no after effects... Fell off a roof aged 5, bounced off the grass into the pavement, not one scratch or bruise to show for it... Aged 11, playing a game of 'chicken' with some friends near railway lines, friend and I fell onto the railway, we got out on such a near miss before electrocution and an incoming train... Aged 11, hit and dragged under a lorry on a motor way (don't ask) lorry stopped, I was pulled back from under by the driver escaping with only scratches and bruises... Early 20's, went in for surgery, died on the operating theatre for 10-12 mins... No after effects... Probably lots more that I don't remember right now... But, I'm still here (-: Most of us have had "close calls." Some of us (you) more than others. I do suspect that we are here to fulfill some unknown purpose. " Thus saith the Lord; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord." ~ Jer. 17:5 "From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand" |

I still ask myself "what is life?" Even at this age... I've seen a lot and been through a lot, I still don't have the answers lol... |

Perhaps it's not that I'm no longer needed her as much as I'm needed there more. We think these flesh bodies of ours are so 'real' and our spirit bodies are intangible, but in the light of eternity, our human bodies are like a shooting star. I've lived long enough to know that one of the biggest question people on their deathbeds ask, is: "What's it all about." My faith has already answered that question for me. Here's the answer: God Loved us enough that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. We can have eternal life with Him if we believe on His Name and repent of our sins. Repenting is really hard. It seems it's going to take me a lifetime to get that part right. I guess there are Christians that don't sin. The Bible does say that with God, all things are possible.

I had open heart surgery when I was six and since then - and not really getting it until I was 12 or 13 I have always felt invincible - there is a name for it too - god syndrome. Experienced by people who were traumatised before puberty - I think OHS sort of counts as trauma no matter how well my cardiologist managed it. - - The cardiologist was amazing tho. He died a couple years ago but was so good he got a half page obit in the telegraph. Mr Monroe. He did all his work with older people but in 1986 I was his first paediatric patient. He did a great job and so did the hospital. Words have power and influence minds. Yet when they are said they are gone. Only the minds remain. |

tcs User ID: 70515008 Canada 08/10/2018 06:05 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You cannot escape death anymore than the consequences of your choices. Where you are now in life is the sum total of your choices. That you can "escape" death or consequences of your past, is a delusion. What needs to be changed is the choices you make... starting from NOW. If you start making better choices, your life will be better. It's a very simple equation. In no realm of our universe does 1 + 1 not equal 2. In the same way, bad choices plus bad choices most assuredly = bad consequences. Make good choices. Be kind; help people. Look beyond your own self-made misery and see a bigger, brighter world; work towards that goal. Be kind. Help people. SPEAK KINDLY EVEN OF PEOPLE YOU DISLIKE. Stop pitying yourself. Be kind, even and especially to those who are unkind. And most of all -- get real. Stop thinking that your life should be like someone else's life or like what you see on TV. Again -- WHERE YOU ARE NOW, IS THE SIMPLE OUTCOME OF ALL THE CHOICES YOU'VE MADE IN YOUR LIFE UP TO THIS POINT. That's as real as it gets. Stare it straight in the face, see it for what it is, and if you don't like what you see, resolve to make better choices. That's all there is to it. That's how you can turn things around. There is no escaping the death of this flesh body. There is just making better choices for a better life; this life, right now.
