If you have jury duty Monday and owe back taxes DO NOT SHOW UP!!!

The IRS needs to be abolished & the only way that will ever happen is if everyone starves the beast! Which will never happen.... I know I'd be too scared to even go there! But that is the only way to get rid of them. I do not mind paying taxes as long as they are fair, & they are not!

If you're not doing taxes you sure as hell don't do jury duty. Big waste of time only nitwits do jury duty.

The same all over the place even in Puerto Rico (USA territory)they put adds in TV. you have a debt with the IRS they can seize your assets confiscate your passports and you go to jail .

They don’t arrest people for back taxes. Only prosecute you and continually harass you until you gave in. No such thing as debtors prison. Not to mention it would be a federal crime for them to misuse the system that way. Abuse of power and position.

Jury duty...only time having a felony on your record comes in handy. I just scribble felony all over the post card and send it back.

If you owe money to the IRS and the letter contact doesn't work, they just put liens against your bank account so you have to get in touch with them. I know this from personal experience.

Say they claim you owe them $3000 and you only have $1500 in the account. That puts you at a negative $1500 at your bank. Sucks to have that happen when your 1200 m from home on vaca and try to use your card and it gets denied.Had to transfer $ from a savings account to cover it til I got back home. After the paperwork that was misfiled for my business was straightened out ,I only owed them a couple hundred bucks. It took almost two months two get the funds released back to my account. They are fucking extortionists.

It is getting almost impossible to avoid the jury summons. I have slipped out of its grips perhaps a dozen times over 40 years. Last call there was no way out--but I still was released shortly before the trial.

The times have changed. It is still a huge rip off for the working man to get stuck on a jury.

Tax debt and tax evasion are two different things. Tax evasion is a favorite arrest technique of the government. Al Capone went untouched by the law for all those years until some FBeye genius thought of the tax evasion laws and he was convicted and sentenced to 11 years prison.
