Roseola is something infants get.
Then we have the chicken pox and the shingles.
What made it so bad for my son was he came down with chicken pox close to his birthday while living in the house with his dad who broke out with shingles.
Then our son broke out with what seemed both chicken pox and shingles on top of it like a double dose of a dual virus.
I have no idea if my husband had roseola when little or if I did.
My husband never had chicken pox, he just got shingles when he was older about mid to later 30's and his sister did as well at the same time she also never had chicken pox.

My son does not have any mental problems, he does have seizures from time to time, rather odd ones.
Some times his arm just flies up into the air with big CorningWare glass bowl full of buttered pop corn, sending it all over the place.
Other times while holding a fork his hand and arm tremors and makes using the utensil more aggravating.
Then times he wakes up in the hallway not even remembering how he got in the floor in the hallway or how long he was down in it like that.

His dad had big issues with narcolepsy and cataplexy for years and years, got better with age which may wind up being worse as he gets even older.

I had seizures when I little, I would be walking with my aunt holding my hand and all of sudden would not have any legs or feet anymore.
It was like I only had a torso, arms and neck and head, without any legs at all.
I would just drop and could not get up, if sitting I would flop over and could not sit up.
Sometime it be like the lose of equilibrium and you could not determine any direction up or down right or left, you just free fall into undetermined space.

Hard to say what all viruses and such cause and what is inherited for sure.

My guess it's the prescription meds psychiatrists prescribe. Have you seen the endless commercials by Big Pharma on TV? The side effect include everything up to death.

I had bad anxiety for many years, my doctor prescribed lexapro which made me gain 20lbs in less than 3 mo's. So then he prescribes me celexa (another SSRI). My advise, never take SSRI's. These are the medications that all the mass shooters take. They really mess up the frontal cortex (where reasoning and decisions) are made.

I stopped taking them and use natural supplements (ie: vegetables and fruits). It's a vitamin deficiency in 90% on patients experiencing mood disorders. It's a conspiracy by "Big Pharma" and "Monsato" (who I believe bought Bayer).

The media won't release the medications all these mass shooters are prescribed. I'm willing to bet dollars to donuts they are on some SSRI med(s).

Another fun fact, when patients first start taking SSRI's, they become suicidal. They may had suicidal tendencies before taking meds, but most don't attempt it because depression makes them lethargic so they aren't motivated to carry it out. Once the SSRI kicks in, it gives them the energy to carry out their plans.

It's probably common in the middle east.

Herpes can be passed on from mother to baby. There are many types of this Virus also - like indicated in this thread chicken pox and shingles. When they say these illnesses run in families well perhaps because they all have a communicable virus that effects more than one generation.

I suppose that depends on what exactly you mean by the middle east. Sounds like your definition might take in a good chunk of Africa.

All those psychiatric symptoms have been found in Swedish Medical research to be linked to high inflammatory levels IN THE SPINAL FLUID.

The nervous system is linked to the skin - look at the development of the embryo.

Also, the colon and stomach is linked to this.

In a novel study, researchers at Karolinska Institutet (Stockholm, Sweden) report that patients with suicidal behavior had lower levels in the cerebrospinal fluid of the signaling molecule interleukin-8 and growth factor VEGF, which both effect the growth and protection of neurons.

The most depressed of the patients had also the lowest levels of VEGF.

According to the researchers this discovery, wich is presented in the journal Translational Psychiatry, may lead to a better understanding of underlying neurobiology of suicidal behavior and improved treatment of suicide attempters.

Interleukin-8 (IL-8) - important in neuroprotection and innate immunity.

VEGF (vascular endothelial growth factor) - a vital angiogenic factor and plays a role in regulating the growth of neurons in the hippocampus, a brain area of importance in depression.

VEGF is also important in neurogenesis and synaptogenesis, and there are several animal studies suggesting that VEGF mediates the biological effect of electroconvulsive seizures and common antidepressants (SSRI).

Earlier studies have also shown that suicidal patients had higher levels of the inflammatory marker interleukin-6 (IL-6) in the cerebrospinal fluid, which has been interpreted as a support of the theory that inflammation of the brain can be a contributing cause in severe depression.

In their study in Translational Psychiatry, the research team shows that low cerebrospinal fluid VEGF and IL-8 is associated with an increased risk of suicide attempt.

43 suicide attempters and 20 healthy volunteers participated in the study. Depression severity was measured with the rating scale MADRS.



Lower levels of VEGF and IL-8

The results showed that suicide attempters had lower levels of VEGF and IL-8 in the cerebrospinal fluid, compared to healthy volunteers.

The suicide attempters with highest depression scores had the lowest VEGF levels. //

"It is important to study growth factors and inflammatory markers in patients with different psychiatric diagnoses to assess if these changes cross diagnostic boundaries", says Dr. Jussi Jokinen, researcher at the Department of Clinical Neuroscience.

"One possible interpretation of the role of low VEGF levels in suicidal behavior may be related to treatment resistance of depression. Time spent as depressed heightens risk for suicidal behavior."
