I cannot find the article or I would post a link. I cannot find the article or I would post a link. I'll try to find that too. I do remember reading it and hell that was several months ago. It's $9.12 (Dollars) in premarket which puts it at 8.02 Euros right now. |
Mr. Bisby User ID: 34166608 United States 11/30/2018 09:17 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Here is a damning article on Deutsche Bank from 2016 and they are in much worse shape now. Then you add the money laundering charges against them and....KABOOM!!! [link to www.kitco.com (secure)] Leverage of Lehman vs. Deutsche Bank: In 2007, Lehman had a leverage (the ratio of total assets to shareholder’s equity) of 31:1. At the time that Lehman filed for bankruptcy, it had $639 billion in assets and $619 billion in debt. Still, it caused a ‘systemic risk’ worldwide. In comparison, DBK has a mind boggling leverage of 40x, according to Berenberg analyst, James Chappell. He stated, "facing an illiquid credit market limiting Deutsche Bank’s (DBK) ability to deliver and with core profitability impaired, it is hard to see how DBK can escape this vicious circle without raising more capital. The CEO has eschewed this route for now, in the hope that self-help can break this loop, but with risk being re-priced again it is hard to see DBK succeeding." |

diverdan01 User ID: 61629722 United States 11/30/2018 10:20 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Citi Bank in the US was a Dead Bank Walking even before 2008. Quoting: Midwest Skeptic VOILA ... the Fed RESCUED them (though I thought they should have been allowed to collapse - to teach the other bankers that YES, they "could" go broke and lose their jobs and stock options). I am sure Germany will do the same thing with DB as the Fed did here with Citi. Force the shareholders to take a major haircut, but keep the bank "alive" (or like in Spain force the shareholders to take a 100% loss while saving the bank shell itself). Even with that said DB is probably so underwater on it's various financial trading instruments that it most likely will take many YEARS before it is probably really solvent again. Amazing isn't it how you can use cross border financial instruments to hide stuff from the regulators, and the investing /depositing public, for YEARS!! I agree..if this goes lower..might be good to buy a hundred shares or so..doubt they will let it fail |

They can't resist bragging about it. So now instead es der dumpfkapfs that are paying penalty? I thought it was supposed to be so perfect? I cannot find the article or I would post a link. When Dautsche Bank fails (not if, when) it will be 5-8x the damage of the Lehman Bros falure in Aug/Sep 2008. The financial ripples will be felt everywhere. Beyond that, this DB failure is a warning about Germany's impending default on its international loans. When that happens, the USA has about 2 weeks before the USA defaults on its international loans and banks close and people can't get money out except for small amounts. So watch Deutsche Bank. No one can stop this train wreck. |
