Parliament 'car crash': Armed police surround driver after vehicle 'hits several cyclists' before smashing into security

In the chaotic aftermath, a police officer was reportedly heard saying that the vehicle may have hit pedestrians or cyclists before smashing into the pedestrian barriers.

Armed police were seen surrounding the vehicle, which is believed to have hit several cyclists, at shortly before 8am on Tuesday.

Not that I saw. This one was posted first, and this incident only happened half an hour ago or so.

Parliament Square was evacuated as a large number of police cars descended on the heart of Westminster.

Streets around Parliament Square, Millbank and Victoria Tower Gardens were also cordoned off as dozens of armed police swooped on the scene.

Looks like the vehicle in this video is the one responsible

At this stage, officers do not believe that anybody is in a life-threatening condition. Cordons are in place to assist the investigation. Westminster tube station is closed.
