There are things we can do to slow or prevent this though
My local supermarket has self service tills which i refuse to use,its someones job im replacing.
My local bank has also replaced the people in the bank we automated tills,im in the process of moving to a bank where they have people.
We can all by our choices make it cost them money to even try this and have to watch their profits fall as people stop using their businesses.

It wont stop it but atleast you wont blindly accept it
