Car amplifier recommendations
I am in the market to replace my car stereo amplifier. After 15+ years, it finally gave up the ghost.

It is a HiFonics Europa VIII 4 channel, 140 watts.

It was powering an Alpine SWR-10DV subwoofer. This replaced an Orion XTR series 2 10 inch, that also finally gave it up after the same amount of time a little bit prior to the amp.

It only needs to power the sub.

I am keeping the factory system as is. Its a Bose 6 speaker system and I am content with it.

I am, and have always been partial to HiFonics and would like to get another one, but will consider any equivalent brand with equal quality. Any suggestions to a suitable replacement? It has been years that I have shopped for something like this and not up to speed as I used to be with amps.

Re: Car amplifier recommendations
I always liked hifonics amps I had a 2 channel hifonics zeus 1000 rms amp pushing two kicker 2ohm CVR 12's in a 35hz tuned fozgate box in my bronco. It hard harders than a drunken step father.

Now I just have the JL500 mono . Its a great amp , my subs are junk though . They were basically free with the amp.

Im gonna swapem out for my old sony xplode 12's . I know what youre thinking junk too

Those sony xplode 12s powered by 2 scosche junk 263rms walmart amps were the only system that ever hit so hard they rattled my internal organs subsonicly .

Serious I could feel my organs vibrating inside me.
.

It was crazy.

I had been running this setup for 15+ years, didn't you catch that? Which is why I am looking for around the same power output. I do not need 1000 watts for my needs.

I'm showing my age I guess but years ago I liked Fosgate Punch stuff. I have no idea whats good or bad today. As factory car audio improved over the years I just stuck with the better factory stuff and now only invest in my home audio.

Give the JL500 a try. If you dont bridge it only running a single 10 it will output around 250rms which will push a quality 10 nicely without sounding rediculous
