They missed a couple though, like the Nag Hammadi, and discerning minds are putting it together. Of course, not without persecution. The Bible scholars who predicted the end of the world according to the Bible in 1666 at least had something going for their argument. There was a plague and half of London burned down, but idk, modern arguments for any sort of historical analysis via the Bible fall short thanks to widespread access to archaeological information. In the NT the HS was given to first the apostles on pentecost and then they who had the HS baptised with the laying of hands.
