Do you forgive the Church/Pope [Poll]

That's what everybody thinks but no one says anything.

Instead they blame the people of the book for all the evil in the world but it's wrong

I actually would like to know [Poll] how many readers FORGIVE the actions of the Church/Pope

Yes, I forgive all of them. I was raped by a priest when I was six years old 1959.

I was raised in the Catholic church, and I started remembering all the details of the abuse when I was in my early 30s.

I believe in Jesus Christ I believe in God, but I left the Catholic Church many, many years ago.

On Labor Day I will be hiking the stations of the cross here in Colorado. I dedicate my hike and my prayers to all the children who have ever been harmed by Catholic priests in any way.

Yes if they go quietly into the night and they dont get in the way of gods new temple being built they shall have forgiveness.

I can't forgive them when I have no idea what they were doing, and that goes for everyone else as well.

Vatican City is a separate STATE (as is D.C.) with its own laws.

If arrest warrants went out in countries for priests could they just fly to Rome when under their own laws they would be innocent ????

The Catholic Church is an official kiddie-fucking organization at this point.

If we were talking about a few isolated incidents, then I could see giving them the benefit of the doubt but we're not talking about a few isolated incidents, are we? We're talking about widespread child abuse (of the worst kind) and REPEATED coverups on a global scale.

In my humble opinion, a person would have to be fucking crazy to allow their children to be around Catholic priests.

Sure--some priests are probably good people yadda yadda yadda. Well, some ghetto-dwelling drugs dealers are probably pretty nice too but I'll be damned if I would send a kid to the project's to spend the day.

You're being a tad hyperbolic, don't you think? Sure, Christianity isn't exactly the best thing for humanity but, as a religion, it's certainly less brutal than many.

Think about the Aztec and Mayan religions where priests publically cut out people's hearts while they were still alive. Think about Baal worship where infants were burned alive in the scalding hot bronze arms of a bull-man statue. Hell, just think about Islam and Sharia Law where revenge-rape is normal and throwing acid on your daughter's face is considered a just punishment for disobedience. And lets not forget Hinduism in which a person is forever locked into their social caste, no matter their will, intelligence and effort in life.

So, yeah. Christianity doesn't make much theological sense but it beats the hell out of many others throughout history. Plus, Christianity is dynamic and has evolved over time to better fit modern sensibilities in the western world.

When did the church forgive during "The Inquisition"? Did they forgive before or after they split ones anus open as you died or confessed and then died?

So then "Do on to others as you want done to you" applies to them. Period!
