I will agree that first time users, if not taken responsibly could cause the individual some discomfort in how they feel...anxiety, paranoia, etc...not unlike having too much alcohol, as I'm sure we've all hugged the porcelain bowl once or twice in our lives...LOL. First time users usually smoke with their friends who have been smoking for a while and have bypassed the negatives. They will encourage the newbie to "have another puff" or another gummy bear, knowing full well that their friend may suffer for a short period of time. That's the thing though, people aren't responsible or thoughtful enough to explain dosage to people who are first-timers or trying it again after a long hiatus. People, you have to tell those you are sharing with and who aren't familiar with today's potency to take it easy and not puff it like that Mexican ditch weed back in the 60's. If it took a bowl to get high back in the 60's, you may only need 1 or 2 puffs now. |

I agree. 20 years, but almost never edibles. They really get you. That is why in Canada only the "Flower" (dried of course) will be available at first. The edibles is a different story. With the flower (via smoking, vape, etc)...certain strains can only produce a max. THC level (based on genetics)...which usually top out at 30% ish. Some strains in the mid levels (15%) can get you higher than a kite...it depends on (as a previous poster mentioned) the character of the individual. Although with edibles...if you extract from the flower (which produces the most THC), the concentrated THC can reach into the 95%+ range...very VERY potent. If someone is baking some cookies and uses full potency and 1000mg for a single cookie...yea...you're going to have some (potentially) uncomfortable issues...at first ;) Canada (if I read things correctly) will have a mandate that no edible will have a greater value than 10mg per portion...i.e. gummy bears, cookies, candies, etc. The edible market in Canada won't be available until (probably) Fall of 2019.
