I strongly suspect they are setting Trump up to take the fall;when the global economy crashes again,and his tariffs and trade war is blamed for causing the crisis.
Thus further stirring up global hatred for Conservatism/Nationalism and Capitalism,and moving the world towards a Liberal/Collectivist and Socialist/Communist hive mind.
