AND its important to remember this is the number of CUSTOMERs. about 90 people live in my neighborhood of about 30 houses. they would report 30 customers without power if my neighborhood went down, but it's 90 people without power. That's probably high, i live in a family neighborhood but the point is this number needs to be multiplied probably in to 1.5X to 2.5X range to get an idea of how many people are without power

Peak flooding on the Lumber at Lumberton with Matthew was 24.3 feet. That covered I-95 for miles and flooded countless homes and businesses.

The expected peak if #Florence's rains verify: 25 feet, an additional 6 inches of misery to that region.

Folks who work at #FortBragg remember how difficult life was when the Little River flooded at Manchester. If NOAA predictions verify, the river will crest 3 feet higher than Matthew's peak next week. Voluntary evacuations have already been issued upriver.

I agree, however if that did happen, it would be the biggest weather related news story this year.

Something to watch.

It's already proven not to be a dud... Lots of floods already and hurricane/tropical storm is going to hang around for at least 2 days causing lots of flooding/water damage. I don't get why people are so hung up on it being the worst storm in the century and it not being as bad as they hoped. Just like Harvey when people said it was a 'nothing burger'. 125 billion in damages, 68 direct fatalities. We're going to see similar number with Florence.

Lane Pittman, the head-banging and Florida Man-worshipping Jacksonville Beach man whose decision to rock out in the face of Hurricane Matthew helped turn him into a local celebrity, has done it again.

A video he posted on Twitter Friday morning shows an underwear-clad Pittman clutching an American flag while marching defiantly down a vacant Myrtle Beach street that looks more like a wind tunnel.

"YOU ARE WEAK AND SMALL FLORENCE!!!!! FLORIDA MAN IS HERE!!!!!" wrote Pittman.
