Most land in NC is quite low and prone to flooding. If you check Google Earthview on the many of the flooded areas you will see that those winding lazy brown rivers are pretty much even with the surrounding countryside before you add a zillion gallons of water suddenly. Bald head Island is soaked >Bald Head Island has 2 to 6 feet of standing water and sustained extensive beach erosion from Hurricane Florence, according to Bald Head Island Rentals. The fires in CA too - is this all the help sell the climate change agenda? For depopulation or both? I do realize we keep building in places we shouldn't and not taking flooding in to account when planning new neighborhoods but still the weather has seemingly gone bananas since the 1990's. The number of hurricanes that have ripped up the Gulf and Atlantic coasts is just insane. Gen. John B Gordon and Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest were the finest citizen-soldiers birthed in America. |
