FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – On Tuesday, rivers in and around this eastern North Carolina city surpassed an infamous milestone, with flooding that was officially worse than Hurricane Matthew two years ago.

That 2016 storm brought heavy rains and flash flooding that swept into buildings and led to more than two dozen statewide deaths. The 500-year flood was something many residents didn't think they would see again, despite recent warnings of dangerous rivers rising days after the passage of Hurricane Florence.

That's awful, but it won't be the last body found with this much flooding.

Just as with Hurricane Matthew, our insurance premiums have doubled following the storm. Yet again we are given bogus excuses for Geico gouging victims of the storm before claims can be filed, even if we have never had a claim. Progressive here we come.

I think President Trump's convoy is in town, a sheriff came over a scanner and said 3 black SUVs just flew by me at about 100 MPH, like I was sitting still. I don't think he pulled them over. lol

The @RedCross was supposed to be in my flooded hometown of Garland NC in Sampson Co today serving lunch. Didn't show. Said they couldn't get there but I'm hearing gas trucks are getting in.

I’m so sorry your hometown and all the families. Your post has been sent headquarters. We have over 3000 volunteers on the ground and even had to helicopter people in to communities today. Conditions are changing hourly, so please have friends/family check roads before gong out.

I’m sorry but we are on the ground here and we heard these same stories after Hurricane Matthew. We are all frustrated but understand, we want be holding our breath for a response from corporate. An apology does no good after a disaster.

Water is still flowing into the town of Lumberton at an incredible rate after #FlorenceHurricane2018 made its way through. Many residents just moved back into their homes in recent months because of flood damage caused by Hurricane Matthew two years ago.

They tried. They couldn't get in because the streets over flooded again. it was on the scanner. It was over 5 ft deep.

That bridge can go at any minute. Here's the stupidity of some people. Putting more pressure on a weakened bridge. Real smart. This is the river that is suppose to over top the bridge tonight around 3 ish am.

A lot of roads are going to just wash out "for no reason" over the next few months...all because the soil was tossed and turned due to Florence Floods. But folks will forget and just be amazed at sink holes and such too.

So far one drunk driver wrecked her car and guys trying to be smart breaking through barricades to get to the cape river. smh. So, State troopers are on their way to give them an arse kicking. lol Right now it's quiet every where or they're using a different com number.
