Good Morning! Looks like everything is quieting down finally. I wouldnt be surprised if that piece of energy from Florence turns into a depression, but that is about it. Hopefully this is the point the hurricane season winds down for the year-- but as we know there is a second meteorological peak around the second week of October.

Yeah 98L looks interesting, but strong winds tomorrow will end whatever it strengthens into. What is crazy is that some of the models loop/curve this back AGAIN!

Our local meteorologist who predicted Gordon 8 months ahead of time, indicated the new cyclical CONUS weather pattern is beginning to develop. When he normally indicates that, I know that means we are approaching the time of year when storms can flip flop from non-tropical to tropical or the other way around like 'The Perfect Storm" Noreaster and Super Storm Sandy. This gets into my favorite time of hurricane season because there is a chance of a lot of atypical situations to occur.

A broad area of low pressure located about 200 miles south of Cape Hatteras, North Carolina, continues to produce disorganized showers and a few thunderstorms. Satellite and surface data indicate that the circulation of the low remains elongated and not well defined. However, this system could still become a tropical depression this afternoon or tonight while it moves slowly northwestward to northward. By Wednesday, additional development appears unlikely due to strong upper-level winds while the system moves northward and north-northeastward near the eastern United States coast. An Air Force Reserve reconnaissance aircraft is scheduled to investigate the system later this afternoon. Regardless of development, this system is likely to bring scattered showers and thunderstorms across
portions of northeastern South Carolina and eastern North Carolina this afternoon and tonight. Wayne County NC had a long downpour today. My ditches weren't yet drained and have filled yet again.

My lower lying neighbors surely didn't need that extra moisture.

We really can't handle much more around here. So many of my family members lost everything...
