Despite having to dvr any games I want to watch because of the bloated advertising, they are now having the game announcers do the commercials DURING the damn game. I can not stand commercials anyway but now I can't get away from them at all. Even the space in the information bar is now gobbled up with someone advertising. You cant even watch it without having a millisecond advertisement flash on the whole screen in the middle of a play.... Quoting: Dumpty Not to mention they claim a non-profit status and disrespect the flag...THAT'S IT, I'M DONE! Fuckers. They ran all of the games the following Monday, back to back, with no commercials. Each play from the huddle to the end of the play. Each game took 25 minutes. So, we were all watching 3 hours of commercials and 25 minutes of a sport mixed in. It's really not even a sport, its just a place where corporations go to advertise. Why would anybody watch that garbage? |

Dumpty (OP) User ID: 76495072 United States 09/01/2018 10:37 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Political threats to revoke the tax-exemption of pro sports organizations hold populist appeal. After all, how can commercial outfits that sell expensive tickets and generate millions of dollars for owners and players be considered non-profit organizations – and thus exempt from paying taxes? The NFL is no charity. If you walk into NFL headquarters on Park Avenue in Manhattan, you think you're in the headquarters of Goldman Sachs. The NFL is registered as a not-for-profit, tax-exempt organization — even with a commissioner who makes nearly $30 million a year. From the tax code to big stadium deals, critics say the NFL is getting millions of public dollars that would be better spent elsewhere. The NFL league office is organized as a 501(c)(6), a part of the tax code that exempts thing like business leagues, chambers of commerce and trade associations. (not that I care, but...) I think the NFL is non-profit because it makes no profit. I think the individual teams are where the taxes are paid. I think the NFL is just an essentially empty umbrella company which exists to manage the team and the league. but taxes are paid at the team level since the NFL doesn't generate profit. Yep, you're incorrect, but The NFL's nonprofit status by the numbers: Unlike charitable nonprofits, or 501 (c) 3 organizations, the 501(c) 6 designation means the NFL is a trade organization. This tax-exempt status does not apply to the league's 32 individually owned franchises, nonprofit is still nonprofit. Last Edited by Van #22 on 09/01/2018 11:01 AM |

Also do not attend anymore games - used to always go to at least one game a year and drop some serious cash doing it. NO MORE I so much enjoy my Sundays - Thursday nights and Monday nights now during football season! do not miss it one bit - it was awkward at first, but I am much more happier now that I don't waste my time on the NFL. Those disrespectful dirtbags ended up doing me a HUGE favor! winning |
