Shit has been going DOWN in Brazil. I bet the stabbing is related to Lula being recently barred from running again due to corruption charges. All of their Deep State candidates are either ineligible or looking like they are going to lose, so they are resorting to murdering (or attempting to) the opposition in full public view.

As I read, he is stable but in critical condition. The wound was deep and serious.

My thoughts: He is favourite by far to win. His vice-president is a 4 star general. If he stays alive till election he probably can still be voted in. But since he would be in very bad shape, his vice will assume. In practice people elected a general(remember Chavez and Castro). Although right wing, still very unpredictable. If he dies, the army can articulate a coup and take over government(happened already in 1964, they stayed 20 years in power).

Lula is in jail and last news is he is not able to be elected. Should be out of question, but till a couple days ago, he WAS candidate, even convicted AND arrested. There is still supreme court appeal for that so that is still a possibility. And if he is candidate, people WILL vote for him(Lula), which means that he might be elected EVEN BEING IN JAIL.

Dark times ahead of us, dark times indeed.
