Bob Woodward's Recording With Trump

I should add that Kellyanne's husband, George Conway, has publicly spoken out against Trump on several occasions. While it's not unusual for spouses to have political disagreements, it seems very odd that the spouse of Trump's closest confident and official Counselor to the President would act out publicly in such a way. It's also very odd that Kellyanne did not inform her boss of her luncheon with Woodward about a book he is writing on the Presidency, and then intentionally avoid setting up the promised meeting between Woodward and Trump prior to the book's publication.

Another oddity revealed in this recording is where Woodward explains to Trump that he had also spoken with Raj Shah to set up a meeting. Upon hearing this, Trump states, "I never speak to Raj." This is the President's own deputy press secretary who, along with Kellyanne, also apparently never attempted to notify the President of Woodward's request for a meeting before the book was published.

Again, it begs the question: Why did two staff members in prominent positions with access to the President and contacted by Woodward both fail to set up this meeting with Trump, and why did they apparently never even inform him?

Is Raj a loyal employee to his boss? The following article reveals that he may not be....

why? he asked permision from trump.the question i ask is why he didnt call trump in the first place? he waited untill the book was done the calls? i call bullshit woodward did it on purpose.

Fwiw- I think she probably did tell Trump , but he is better off not doing it where his words could be misconstrued, out of context or used against him, then just played aloof that he didn't know

Think about it, what good would come of him being in the book, it would just sell more books for Woodward, and frankly who gives a crap about that

i can understand exactly why Trump would not want to go on record with an investigative journalist. Even the preparations for such a meeting would be a huge investment of time with zero potential upside for Trump.

Trump minimized his risk there, for sure.

Definitely sounds like it was a set up and Kellyanne may be sabotaging behind the scenes, especially considering who her husband is.

I thought she was excellent during the campaign and really went to bat for Trump, so that is just weird. Maybe someone made her an offer she couldn't refuse. They're all just a bunch of paid whores in DC!

That's very interesting. I am no linguist specialist, but just from my own experience of working in an office setting and noting general differences in styles of writing between male and female coworkers, the wording and design of the letter appears to have been written by a woman.

No man, you need to listen again. Trump didn't want to meet with this joker! You can hear it in Trumps voice and tone. Also, Woodward comes off as a whiny old man who is going to tattle to the President.

Don't forget, at the end Trump basically calls him a liar about not being able to reach him because all he had to do was call the White House.

but still, bottom line is Trump wasn't going to waste his time with this joker.

My first gut reaction was it's Kellyanne (op-ed), I don't buy her "memo" excuse but she is very slippery! However, I thought we uncovered it was an intern hire who wrote a college essay so why had this not broke into MSM? I really think both cnn & fox loving the mystery story so they can keep talking about it all
