General Mattis somehow skipped Vietnam. How can a 18 year who joins the marines in 1968 miss Vietnam completely. He can’t talk the talk because he skipped Vietnam for his enlistment. Unheard of, in the marines at that time.
Quoting: War eagle3 He joined in '69. Got his degree in '71 and was then commissioned. Ok but for anyone else at that time, you did not go straight to college from the enlisted ranks at 18. You had to to do a tour in Vietnam. Simple logic. Navy had a similar program but after 2 years of duty, college. If not everyone would do it.
