I been keeping up with the groups on fb...I've read some wild stories from hurricanes past, and seen some wild pics. Hopefully by next season I will be able to do my job with the confidence it will take for Cat recovery. Welcome to Cat Adjusting. I have been a Cat Adjuster for 13 years now. It's a family thing. Dad retired from it. Unc or retired from it. Brother and sister in law do it and on and on. Anyway, key is to hook up with a seasoned adjuster to help you out. Adjusters are good peoples all. Never met one that is not willing to help if you just ask. Use the help rooms if available. www.catadjuster.org is a great resource. It's a peer to peer community. I no longer work in the field. I am a file examiner and do mostly large loss claims reviews and settlement, but, I have seen first hand many times what's about to happen to the Carolina coast. Their will be plenty of people to help you. Get with your field supervisor and get names and numbers of seasoned adjusters working the same account. All companies want claims processed a little differently. Most of all, good luck and be safe. You can do it. Make that money. Thank you!! Yes, I have heard once one becomes an adjuster, it becomes a family deal. I will be the first one in my family! I'm excited but also a little fearful of my first deployment. We are rallying in Raleigh NC on Saturday, and re-assessing at that point. Depending on how things go, I may have some fucking amazing photos, OR absolutely nothing. OMG you job sounds amazing. Whats your job title? same thing i thought as i read it... sounds like a rewarding job - albeit tough at times. how did you land in that field, i can't imagine its a highly sought after field in my area (michigan), as we seldom have disastrous weather. |
