And no it's not just NASA saying that. I wrote the program to annotate SDO videos myself. It automatically reads the time stamps from the original SDO 1024x1024 video and uses it to calculate the relative position of the moon and sun as seen from SDO based on its orbital elements, then renders that as an overlay on top of the original video.
