Hurricane Florence downgraded to a cat 2 storm

Thanks for setting them straight. They sit behind their computers and laugh at a Category 1. Obviously, they've never seen the destruction as you have. I posted photos of Hurricane Sandy, a Category 1, above. It's no laughing matter. I was there to see it.

Nothing ever actually happens. It's nice to pretend for a bit, but they will have to turn a hose on the weather ladies as usual. And life will go on just as it has before.

Yes I did. Was lucky enough to rent the same house I lived in for Hurricane Harvey and Irma. 5 minutes from the office. Fully furnished just outside downtown Columbia S.C. getting all my loose ends tied up here at the house.

Don't know if you have signed on with A particular company yet, but, Pilot Catastrophe is a good place to start. Get your adjuster wings. Tons of claims and a lot of support. Contracted with them for many years until I got into the groove and got comfortable. I contract with a smaller company now.

Well, I took most of my certifications through TheBestIRS.whom have already told me as soon as I'm ready to let them know. I've heard Pilot is a good one. . I have some xactimate 28 and sketch, I just dont know if I can just be flung out there, I'm a very organized person, which means I have to also be mind organized, and those families whom have lost everything deserve the very best handling their claims. I'm still undecided as to when I will be ready. I retained my license and certifications in about 6 weeks, I feel like I crammed it all in.

Luis will not like that.

I think with MAria & the devastation to Texas / Florida TPTB are so afraid not to take the upmost actions or get derided & poked at for not doing enough... remember the nursing homes?

The media will make big deal of every hurricane while trump in office so they can chastize him afterwards for not adequately responding to it

Bottom line - the only honest source is the radar.

These areas near the ocean are built for Hurricanes. Houses are on stilts. It's jut not the same as Houston.

I'm sure everyone would not have evacuated for a cat 1 storm.

Katrina hit as a cat 2 but that storm's power was not the wind it was the storm surge.

This storm will have neither.

135 pages of doom gushing and EVACUATIONS SHOULD BE ORDERED! and its a worthless dud, which is why people avoid absolute hysteria as much as possible. Even got franky of nova scotia with this one, but at least he had plenty of pizzas and chinese food on hand.

Warning is one thing but acting like it's the storm of the century as they have been doing? No those are the things that get people hurt both physically but financially.

People who evacuated are going back home. Many are vowing to never evacuate again after all the over hyping of Cat1 storms which become depressions after an hour of landfall.

Yes. I grew up 40 miles from the Gulf of Mexico at 20 ft. elevation - lived through countless hurricanes.

This hype is disgusting to me. It's all about advertising $$$.

People need to know the truth, so they can respond appropriately.

Yeah, I'm staying. Dad gave me extra funds to get out of dodge if needed. I have decided and if the power does go out then I will get on the road to my brothers.

I think they want this hurricane to be devastating.

Right now, it's nice and sunny. i will take some pictures. I already have a huge spider that decided to protect it's nest on my porch. I left it alone. We all have to survive.

If the spider survives, then I will survive. I'm going to go bring him on the porch to protect him.
