Grasshopper Just now on Boston 10. Perhaps the media just decided to report the news? Surely the gas company didn't sit and wait for 2 1/2 hours. Well, you never know, but the reporters kept saying they couldn’t understand why Columbia Gas had not responded. Just now they said they haven’t heard anything from gas company yet. Maybe they're too busy scrubbing tweets and notices about upgrades and safety awards? |

We poached him from a gas company in MA a few months ago. He used to deliver gas pipes for big projects. He called his friends in the industry to see what happened and this was his reply to me. “So I called my guy. Columbia gas of Lawrence was repairing a high pressure gas line so they diverted all the gas into a low pressure line for whatever dumb reason and it was too much to handle so far 26 house have blown up 2 people dead they've evacuated 3 towns. Columbia gas is gonna lose their shirts in law suits people are going to get fired and possibly see jail time” |

Misspurrrrrect User ID: 15572297 United States 09/13/2018 07:57 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You may be closer to the truth than you think. Remember the pics of the Calif fires the earlier part of this year. Trees were standing but the homes were burned to nothing but ashes. There were scorch burns on the roads so people thought it was an energy weapon of some sort. Perhaps so. The smart meter was a culprit named as a possibility though. They are known to burn the crap out of the home to which they are attached, in some cases. Are the Boston fires following a pattern that could make it easier to blame something specific? Is this how a neighborhood would explode and burn if there was a surge of pressure or a flame induced fire that could go down the row and just keep exploding buildings? There has to be an explanation ....... Edit post: Cardiak User ID: 73350758 United States 09/13/2018 07:55 PM On page 17 has a great and believable explanation! Gas is often delivered at higher pressures today, and the home meter/regulator making a much bigger drop. The new meters are often much louder. I've always thought this was a bad idea, combined with the fact this is just something technology will always suffer. This happened in Chicago maybe 10 years ago. I forget how many buildings. TheGasMan II User ID: 71648857 United States 09/13/2018 08:00 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Sounds like a massive pressure increase occurred. Once the pressure increased to a certain point, diaphragms in appliance control valves were blown out, causing gas to escape the appliance and enter the living quarters. Once the gas reaches a source of ignition, boom! Different floor plans and layouts would affect the spread of the gas, as well as different ignition sources causing explosions at varying intervals.
