Not Harvard and this study seemed to include ANY death afterthe hurricane.

Wouldliketo see a breakdown of all the money and supplies given to them and why are they crying formore.

By the time Trump finished tossing paper towels and people and was wheels up from San Juan in Air Force One, the official tally had more than doubled, from 16 to 45. And the numbers just kept climbing and climbing after the storm while most of the island remained without power pretty much until five minutes ago. Three months after the storm, the estimated body count was over 1,000 and it kept climbing after that, as residents died from lack of health care, water, food ... and oh yeah, electricity. The current estimate is 2,975, and it could be more than that. But those people don't count.

Obama got a briefing 30 minutes after Benghazi attack started. The attack went on for 11 hours....Obama went to bed...I guess those people didn't matter.

Ahhh...so it's Trump's fault that those troglodytes don't know how set poles, string wire, and fire up a generator on their own?

It's a year later, and we're finding truckloads of supplies still sitting at their airports and docks, and that's Trump's fault?

We have like 75,000 of them that were flown into Florida, put up in posh hotels for a year, and now they're mad that we want them to either leave or get a fuckin job.

Vacation's over! You ain't on island time anymore, bitches

No one bashed Trump. He bashed himself with his stupid tweets. Gives himself an A+, cause that's all that matters to him, it's all about him. Why do you guys cover for this liar, skew articles and news reports so it looks like the liar in chief is right when he's out of his mind.

Yep, those deaths are Trump's fault. Because he stole the office of POTUS and assumed responsibility.

If he doesn't want to be responsible, he is more than welcome to resign. Until he's out of office, though, it's all on him.

That's what it means to be Commander in Chief. It means the buck stops with you. If he wants to PASS the buck, he needs to return to reality TV.

Regarding the official death toll of 2,975, Paul Ryan said today he has "no reason to dispute those numbers."

"Casualties don't make a person look bad, so I have no reason to dispute these numbers," he said Thursday.

"It was devastating. It was a horrible storm. I toured the entire island. It's an isolated island that lost its infrastructure and power for a long time, you couldn't get to people for a long time," Ryan said.

"I have no reason to dispute those numbers," he added. "Those are just the facts of what happened."

What was left open was for miltary and such and they had already been lacking things vital and revenue which comes from their own government there by majority.
The people were working and helping and there was instead time for disputing against the new US President by one in charge there even before the hurricane he was not liked by that one in particular.
That still never stopped the intervention that the President took up and sent and the unloading and distribution of it was a problem within the State's area not Federal area or military area.

Like I said, we have 75,000 of them that are mad because because they are about to get kicked out of the Disney World resort hotels.

I have little sympathy, because I live in Florida, and we were nailed hard by hurricanes last year, too.

My property is still fucked, but I spent the first week with no electricity cutting downed trees and rebuilding all the broken shit.

No showers and no air conditioning. I washed my stinky ass with a jug of water on the back patio, then I went to work at my real job, fixing other people's shit.

Just like my neighbors.

I suppose that's why we're not all living in hotels hundreds of miles from home now.

I don't know about you, but I'd rather be in my own bed than holed up at a Disney resort. My memory foam mattress is better than any hotel.

I'd imagine Puerto Rican residents feel the same.

The ONLY reason to get attached to the hotel is that no one is dealing with the root of the problem at home, because they're pretending that it never happened.

Re: Florida Republicans distancing themselves from Trump's false claims about Puerto Rico storm death
Independent researchers from the George Washington University have estimated that 2,975 died in Puerto Rico in the six months following Hurricane Maria in 2017 – a far cry from the government's original official death toll of 64. The authors of the study also found that individuals in low-income areas and elderly men were most at risk for death on the island from September 2017 through February 2018.

The researchers' findings had been much anticipated. Puerto Rico Governor Ricardo Rosselló ordered the George Washington University study in February in the face of mounting public pressure over his administration's failure to adequately count the number of deaths in the storm's aftermath.

"The results of our epidemiological study suggest that, tragically, Hurricane Maria led to a large number of excess deaths throughout the island," said Dr. Carlos Santos-Burgoa, the principal investigator of the project and a professor of global health at George Washington University Milken Institute School of Public Health. "We hope this report and its recommendations will help build the island's resilience and pave the way toward a plan that will protect all sectors of society in times of natural disasters."

In the aftermath of the catastrophic storm, which tore through Puerto Rico last September, the government's official death toll has held steady at 64, despite several academic assessments that asserted that the official death count does not come close to the actual one. The government of Puerto Rico even acknowledged that figure was likely inaccurate and would be adjusted once the George Washington researchers completed their analysis.

No less an authority than CBS 1 month ago published the OFFICIAL Puerto Rico Government death toll at 64!

The official government count of the number of people killed when Hurricane Maria pummeled Puerto Rico last year stands at 64

Less than 50%

 Quoting: WaitTressSandwhich

Why didn't you include what the rest of that story said?

New study sheds light on death toll from Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico

The official government count of the number of people killed when Hurricane Maria pummeled Puerto Rico last year stands at 64. But researchers say the true number of deaths may actually be much higher. A new analysis puts the figure at 1,139. While that's many times the official figure, it is not as high as another study that came out earlier this year.

The researchers used official government death records in their study, according to a paper on the findings published Thursday in the Journal of the American Medical Association, a peer-reviewed medical journal. The findings took into account people who died from both the hurricane's immediate impact and its secondary effects during the months after it barreled into Puerto Rico in September.

"If we have a better idea of the damage that Hurricane Maria actually did, then maybe we can use that experience to inform and reshape protocols, policies and emergency management protocols," Alexis Raúl Santos, an assistant professor of human development and family studies at Penn State, said in a news release on the findings.

The news release says this study is different from other estimates that used data from surveys or government agencies, "which may not be reliable." A Harvard University study released in May said the hurricane was likely responsible for more than 4,600 deaths, a figure that was based on results of a door-to-door survey of 3,299 randomly selected homes across the island.

 Quoting: Fast and Bulbous

Because the rest of the story is bullshit. A bunch of liberals wanted to add "secondary deaths" to the offical death toll just as a way to bash Trump....which is exactly whats happening.

they never did this Obama
 Quoting: WaitTressSandwhich

Nice try, but selective editing gets you nowhere.

Anyway, I do not think the above was authored by "a bunch of liberals wanted to add "secondary deaths". Maybe that's why Governor Rosello in the video above has announced the official death toll is 2,975 souls.
 Quoting: Fast and Bulbous

It says "they estimate", which means a guess

It says they went door to door for some sort of death toll. Do they do that in the US? No

You stupid fucks throw logic and reason right out the window when it comes to bashing Trump and praising Obama.

Trump is doing far better than democrats thought he would, but instead of you admitting you were wrong about him, you choose to live in fantasy world and ignore the facts

The truckers in Puerto Rico, wanted a better deal, so they went on strike right after the hurricane, thinking they would get their raise! They did not and that is why all the goods we sent there remains undelivered. If anyone died, it's not the President's fault. It is the fault of greedy people in Puerto Rico.

Even in Florida after Hurricane IVAN, the death toll crept up for MONTHS but was NEVER reported. Some were killed while cleaning their properties, some died in nursing homes as a direct result of lack of oxygen supplies, heat, proper ventilation, etc...
But NOBODY bitched and moaned about it. And truth yall, after EVERY HURRICANE there will be more deaths due to the canes which will never be attributed to them LONG AFTER the storm has gone.

Blaming Trump for those deaths is a travesty and people should be ashamed using dead people for their own political purposes. Fuckers, one and all.

So concerned? Hop your ass on the nearest Puerto Rican Express and start helping rebuild on your OWN self righteous dime.

As for the Republican party in Florida they should just go on and rename themselves to what they really are...Democratic neocommie NAZIS.

This shot should at the least concern you, if not for your selfish brainwashed selves, then for your young children and grandchildren, who WILL BE SLAVES in the future to these bastards. Re: Florida Republicans distancing themselves from Trump's false claims about Puerto Rico storm death
In reality it was more than 17,000 death due to collateral damage , one being the lack of clean drinking water that evidently someone in the chain of command failed to distribute
,most all persons not receiving kidney dialysis died along with the lack of drinking water that made it worst instead of giving them boxes away they rationed the water to one bottle per person many died due to this wile millions of the fucking bottles lied being sun bleached at the end of a landing strip tarmac !

remember trucks went on strike or government ordered them to go on strike and not deliver goods, it was a political mess and clearly staged to smear Trump

Re: Florida Republicans distancing themselves from Trump's false claims about Puerto Rico storm death
Are they taking in account of all those who died from lack of food and services and even meds, in the following weeks/months? Because that would be the official death toll, its not just the day of the storm. That aftermath of the storm is also the death count.

However, if this study is just projecting percentages they assume, that's not necessarily what occurred.

Some may be mad max in disasters, but many are the titanic and they share resources with those in need.

The Devil tries to convince everyone he doesn't exist.
The state tries to convince everyone they cannot resist.
