Doomsday Bunkers ready in New Zealand?
Are the rich about to make they move down under? Is shutting down of the observatory a sign to move to your bunkers now?

Weird why the feel the need to post this today.

Days later, The New Yorker published an article about wealthy "doomsday preppers" and their growing interest in New Zealand as "a refuge in the event of a cataclysm".

Re: Doomsday Bunkers ready in New Zealand?
The problem with bunkers like this is that all the workers know where it is.

There is a reason why Pharaohs put to death those masons who knew the traps and security of their tombs.

So... American Oligarch gets the "go" message to bugout on his phone. He stuffs his family on a helicopter, flying to an airstrip in Nevada. They board a business jet to New Zealand, taking 20 hours total from San Francisco, Reno, and then to NZ.

By the time his family pulls up with a Land Rover to his super-secret hidey hole, he discovers one of the workers who buried it has taken it over. The worker and his buddies are packing heat from the armory of the shelter.

From OP's article,

The company's top-end models come with a gym, hot sauna, swimming pool and hot tub, game room with billiard tables, bowling alley and media room. The budget bunker, priced US$39,000, includes a bunk bed, basic air filtration system and kitchen counter.

Sounds like a clever salesperson pushing DOOM.

Informative Comment follows:

With Taupo amd Rotorua overdue to erupt anytime, and the famous Alpine Fault on the verge of tearing both islands apart, having very recently been seriously shifted in the last 7.8 magnitude Earthquake, is it really the safest place to be? Have a read before you throw a shed load of dough at this beautiful place. [link to www.stuff.co.nz] BarnaBee.

Good points.

The problem with these kind of shelters is they are fixed in place.

A better solution would be a mobile shelter with several remote, hardened locations you could back into.

I believe Garrett Graff mentioned these in his recent book, "Raven Rock" - a must-read.

...and the person who installed his secure entry keypad, has also installed a secret "backdoor" access code on that keypad.

I don't think those "elites" thought out things very well.
If or when real DOOM happens on this planet. There will be nowhere for anyone to go to escape it. Unless they have access to a spacecraft.
Like I heard from one mover and shaker type who was talking about this years ago during the economic problems of 2008 or so. Paraphrasing; 'If they could leave Earth in a spaceship they would.'

For those in the know, aren't the DUMB in Colorado and elsewhere safe for the elites?

There are at least 2 underground hotel-like dwellings for communal-type living, one owned by the LDS and one privately operated by the "Society for the Preservation of Near Extinct Species."
