As far back as I can remember, my mother was always
OBESE. So was her father and some others.

In around 1960s my sisters friend was a hippo , so was the rest of
her family.

Yeah, obesity in 2018 is not a result of eating too much and not moving enough. There is something else going on. Americans eat healthier than ever and are fatter than ever. I think that HFCS also plays a role in the obesity levels of today.

in my city there's alotta hawaiian, samoan, polynesian immigration... and they are yuuuuge!

most likely due to the predominance of type-O bloodtype not being compatible with gluten heavy carbohydrates... it's the diet and bloodtype i think.

all vintage photos of native haiwaiians yeilds skinny people.

spam and bread is the culprit. they did better eating macadamia nuts and taro roots! afro
 Quoting: Conspiracy Theory Bump

They probably ate lots of FISH, foods from the sea contain everything, all the minerals...

They did eat *fermented* poi...and coconut. Wild boar I think...

Probably ate fruit too I'm thinking

There are loads of reasons why people are fatter now, and not all of them are diet changes. But some are.

It does seem like some indigenous socieities do even worse on junk European/american foods than European based people do... I will give you that!

At least our European genes are used to the trad European diet. (not the junk European/american diet)

People ate an honest 3 meals a day with little snacking. No soda or chocolate. Almost no refined sugars. Very little meat during the summer. Hard labor from sun up to sun down 6 days a week.

here i was thinking they used to eat natural boring stuff while we in modern times have fastfood, snacks and literary ALL the food we want. compared to back when people had to barter for food or had to grow there own and probably had like 1% of the choice in food we have today. probably less than that

US farmers don't eat the corn they produce. They maily grow the monsanto laced dent corn variety for the industrial scale production of plastics, ethanol, oil/margarine, hydrolysed proteins, and all sorts of sophisticated chemicals to poison us.

The vast variety of packaged foods we see in the grocery story doesn't have much bio-diversity whatsoever, it's all a facade of different fake flavors.

The Ethanol corn was the worst government idea IMHO to make the US codependent on other nations to import our food.

The idea of growing fuel corn (That has to be Federally subsidized because it is not naturally profitable in the marketplace) was a central planning communist agenda to shift our farms away from our own food production and self sufficiency.

BTW the deer that eat some of these GMO corns (not meant for human consumption) are growing to enormous body sizes and masses and are not something you want to hit with your car when a horny buck is going out of his mind chasing the doe in heat....

I'm at a computer more than I like too.

Still I think it helps me lose weight and we love our wood heat... think it also keeps us from getting sick as much having a warm dry house in spite of cool damp outside.

Earth grounding (going barefoot) as much as possible working outside has also helped me reduce inflammation and I believe would be a key to weightloss for many people.

I got what you are saying but it didn't just start recently. Look at 50s tv. Otis, the Mayor, Aunt Bee and countless other fatties on Andy Griffith. Fatties on I Love Lucy. Dig out some old tv shows and you will see obese people were plentiful back then. We just didn't know any except locals and ones we saw on tv. Now the internet and countless tv shows we can see even more. When did gmo really start? If it was just recent why were there so many obese back then?

Gender-Bender Chemicals are Turning Boys Into Girls

The government of Denmark has released a 326-page report affirming that endocrine disrupting chemicals are probably continuing to the birth of fewer males and the "feminization" of existing ones.

The report centers on chemicals like PVC, flame retardants, phthalates, dioxins, PCBs and bisphenol-A, all of which mimic the action of estrogen in the body. The researchers concluded that due to the prevalence of these chemicals, children could easily be exposed to high enough levels to place them at "critical risk" of harm.

"Endocrine disrupting" chemicals that mimic or interfere with the body's natural sex hormones are partially responsible for early puberty in girls, according to a study conducted by researchers from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York.

"Research has shown that early pubertal development in girls can have adverse social and medical effects, including cancer and diabetes later in life," researcher Mary Wolff said. "Our research shows a connection between chemicals that girls are exposed to on a daily basis and either delayed or early development."

After my limited reading into Sous Vide, I decided against it. I blame all plastics, liners, BPA-free or not-BPA=free...

I also blame SOY in messing with our endocrine and hormonal balance.

Traditionally SOY is fermented, historically in SE Asia in the form of bean pastes and soy sauce, sure there's Tofu and Soy Milk...

What I'm trying to say it's never really eaten by itself or in the form of extruded 'textured soy protein'. The health food fanatics in the 1970's and 1980's embraced soy wholesale. It's everywhere in processed and fast food.

Soybean and corn oil??? Only from chemical reactions!!!

Industrial foodstuffs are literally killing everybody!
