US President Donald Trump has instructed staff to move forward with the next round of tariffs on Chinese goods, US media have reported.

The tariffs are expected to apply to about $200bn worth of imports from China, including electronic parts and consumer goods such as handbags.

It remains unclear when the new import taxes - which could be as high as 25% - will go into effect.

Officials are reportedly still working on the final list of products.

President Trump ordered his staff to start preparing the tariffs this summer, escalating a dispute over what the US says are China's unfair trade practices, such as state subsidies.

I would totally support a pre-emptive nuclear strike. These play rounds at tariffs are fun and all but they only prolong taking the real actions that need to be taken.

Ordinarily, you could do "regime change" on them, but the people there have always and still do support their form of evil government so this is not an option.

Once you metabolize that fact, then there's only really two options. Join them, become evil or totally destroy them. I'm afraid those are the only two choices. The longer we wait to make that choice, the more likely the first choice is made and the more costly the second choice gets.

Yep that's the idea with tariffs. They are to make domestic products more on the same cost level as foreign products that are made with cheaper labor. Also the federal government was set up to be financed off of tariffs, not taxes taken from working people.

I LMAO when Hillary was talking about how she wanted to fix that. The Clintons were a big part in setting it up. Basically politicians talk to the voters about problems that they helped make and then do nothing about it after they get re-elected.

As a manufacturer I have to directly compete with these slave labor Chinese goods. I have to comply with all sorts of US laws that add a lot of cost to my products and am saddled with high priced mandated health insurance while the Chi-Coms are free to destroy the environment, rape the land and use slaves to produce their goods.

200 million is more than all US goods exported annually to China combined lol. China made a huge mistake by trying to tariff the US back the first time. Now their economy will suffer far more than necessary. There is only one solution: stop taking advantage of the US and tariffing the hell out of our exports. Trump can and will keep going too.
