Yes, but looking at the quality of their belongings, I understand why they let it go for auction, rather than paying rent.

In the rom coms, when they ask "are you by yourself" they're trying to figure out if you're taken.

Dammit thanks op....i got the itch again. Was always better at finding things. Got to be cautious on the storage units. Can loose your ass in a hurry.

Luckily, the winning units outnumber the dogs like this one.
And, it's a lot of fun, most of the time.

My next video will be a walk thru in one of my units where I park the treasure before it sells.

Not sure where you are, but maybe a Metal detector or some Magnet fishing might yield better results. And you could still do the Videos too.

Just to let you know my Buddy and his wife managed a storage facility for years, and they went thru the stuff before it was auctioned off.

You definitely want to stay away from facilities like that. I've been burned before. That's the game.

Spouse and I did a 4-month stint managing a huge storage
facility in the NW--we were fired for calling the owner
of the place (who has since passed away so I can talk about
it) for doing EXACTLY this. He used to call it "Stuff that
falls off the back of the truck" for an excuse to cherry-
pick high dollar items from expired units. It was so disgusting...and people who lose their units are usually
in some really bad situation--so I always thought that
benefiting in any way from their "doomed" possessions held
a certain amount of BAD KARMA with it. (But that's just me.)

I could tell you stories about what we saw...but most of
it is depressing. People who manage these sites--the big
ones over 500 units--usually need THERAPY by the time
their careers end. It's a nightmare.
