Not certain which satellites are posing the collision risk but I'll update when I know more. *Update: I'm hearing the satellites involved are Cosmos 1461 and Kanopus V3. Both are Russian satellites. The former was a naval reconnaissance satellite, the later was a high resolution earth observation satellite. No likelihood, or very little of there being a CME this week. You need a big hot messy sunspot releasing solar flares to produce a CME. Could be used to cripple military, commercial and financial communications. US Space Command was freaked out about it. - Sept 11th, FBI raids and evacuates Sacramento Peak Observatory, Alamagordo PO shutdown and surrounding communities evacuated.
