It's related, but no Kewpie doll. Ceylon cinnamon is much milder and mellower tasting. It was a shock to me, but I've come to prefer the Ceylon once I got over my idea of what cinnamon is supposed to taste like. NO added sugar and no starchy carbs. Limit high-glycemic-index fruits. Blueberries and most other berries are just fine. Lose weight. Bummer, I know, but losing 20 lbs made my blood sugars stand up and take notice. More deplorable all the time. |

It seems to me that people who have blood sugar problems are the people who use "substitutes" (diet pop, margarine, salt substitute, sugar substitute, etc.) I eat real butter, sugar, salt, eggs...and RARELY drink any kind of soda...My glucose level always seems to be at 89 (with every blood test). Everything in moderation...even moderation itself :) If I am going to be damned...I am going to be damned for who I really am! |

If you can't, eat just meat for a few days. then add veggies in. YOu will have to eat more because our bodies need time to adjust to not eating carbs, but it will adjust. Within a few days, your sugar will normalize. You might see spikes in the morning, which is unnerving, especially if you fast. It seems it can't happen if you don't eat, but it does happen and this will go on for a week or two and is normal as your liver dumps sugar into the bloodstream. God Bless You! Metformin caused severe hair loss for me. Within 2 months of starting on that, my hair was falling out in clumps and handfuls. O.o Turns out, when metformin was referred to as invokamet, and invokana before that, it DID have a warning label for severe hair loss, but no more. metformin is their THIRD attempt at having less neg. side effects than the others. like not as much losing feet and hands. just hair. :/ Of course, the docs assure me that metformin rarely has these complications. Uh huh. Tell it to the choir. Please do research online before taking ANY diabetic meds besides the insulin itself. Read the reviews for yourself. And decide what you'd like to do, for yourself. My docs looked the other way and said I should consider the positive benefits over the negative side effects. Well. I told them they can kiss my ass. Like what has been suggested.. lowest carbs possible yes. the apple cider vinegar in water before bedtime and before meals, yes. cut out all sugar and don't use sugar substitutes cuz those are usually gmo's. get used to the taste of green tea with no sugar. get a tight control on what you eat and drink. realize that sugar or sugar substitutes are in nearly everything. :/ learn about your food. usually LESS sugar is far better than any of the sugar substitutes, in the long run. just eat LESS of whatever it is. portion control is the thing. green apples (granny smith) are better at less sugar than red apples. realize that even organic stuff usually has some natural sugars or sugars added. O.o go back to basics. use virgin olive oil. real butter. little to no processed foods. you can reverse diabetes 2 with controlling your diet in the right ways. read about that online too. |

Only exercise reverses insulin resistance Insulin resistance is when your muscle cells do not respond to the presence of insulin and refuse to uptake sugar from your blood. Exercise increases the amount of sugar your muscles can uptake from the blood and thus reverses type 2 diabetes |

I was 320lbs I'm a 6' 1" tall middle age male. My A1C was 5.7 I was put on a 1500mg (3 500mg) per day Metformin. 5000ui Vit D3, 2000mg of Omega 3 fish oils. I had to cut out all sugar. no sugar drinks and as little sugar in foods. Not exactly a full keto diet, but much less carbs than before. Look for foods and Drinks that use Sugar Alcohol rather than sugar. You will have to drink water at least half your weight in oz. eg... if you weigh 100lbs you will need to drink 50oz or more water per day. I found Propel powders use Sugar Alcohols for sweetner. I found replacement sweeteners "Erythritol" is a Sugar Alcohol that you can cook with or use it for your drinks or Coffee. Eat less carbs and foods that your body process into glucose like breads, Rice, Potatoes. Eat less processed foods. make snacks like Celery, carrots... don't eat a lot of sweet fruits as they will break down to glucose. I found that the Atkins meal replacement bars were much better than any diet food (they will be kinda grainy texture on some of them) and are great for a lunch. Cold soaked oatmeal with blueberries or diced up apples and cinnamon are great for a fast easy breakfast. Or scrambled eggs. Eat a proper portion dinner of a protein and Salad or veggie for dinner I was not doing any exercise for the first few months (Doctors orders) I have lost close to 70lbs but the last blood work had my triglycerides down to 300 roughly 200 points to go. you have to make a lifestyle change for this to work in the long term. but you learn so much about what to eat and what not to eat. really wasn't a huge change now that I think back it just made life much better. smokey |
