Heads up on Craigslist Hustlers and car sales, My personal advice for your safety and well being and avoiding loss or worse

It's a common scam. I was sent a cashier's check like this and they said they'd send a driver to pick up the item. I was pretty skeptical, so I googled the routing number and found that it was from a bank that was taken over. I then called the new bank and it took her about 30 seconds to figure out it was fake.

They want you to deposit it in a atm where you will get credited for it. Then, a couple days later it will bounce and be deducted from your account.

It's a very common scam on craigslist. Almost every item I've sold that's over $200 I'm flooded with texts from these scammers.

I doubt craigslist even cares.

Nobody cares, there are too many crimes being committed every hour for ANYONE to care. There are not enough cops or jails and the criminals know that too.

When the cashiers check is cashed, it is still not safe. The cashiers check will be returned as a counterfeit from the bank it was supposedly written on a week, or so later.

Only accept cash, or a direct wire into your account before handing over the item. I would only take cash.

Almost every in person transaction I have ever completed with a person of their shade has been sketchy.

That's fair walk with you counterfeit money, I fully understand what you are saying thought. It's a catch 22. But lets face it, if you walk away I lose nothing, If you pass me funny money I lose everything. If I have your Identity I can recover.
