Quoting: TheUnknownSoldier Why do you think that the world's richest and most powerful people are pushing the socialist agenda so hard? In a truely socialist society, all social classes are "financially equal". No one person can have wealth that the others don't. So, do you honestly believe that all of these billionaires would voluntarily allow all of their wealth to be divided evenly amongst the rest of society? I mean really? I get the appeal of it. What impoverished or lower middle class person wouldn't jump at the thought of reaping that sort of "social justice"? But do you really think they are pushing for socialism for your benefit? I get it because was one of those people before I started seeing the ever increasing lunacy coming out of the left. The Robin Hood idea of taking from the rich to give to the poor sounds good to anyone lacking that same social status, but history has proven time and time again that socialism simply isn't a viable long term solution for a functioning society, much less a free one. If you can't honestly believe the world's billionaires would willingly allow their hard earned wealth to be taken from them, then why do you think they claim to support it? Do you honestly believe you can remain free in such a society where everyone is "equal"? Call me cynical, call me a conspiracy theorist, but it just doesn't pass the smell test to me. I'm curious to know if any Dems out there have really thought this through. "Why do you think that the world's richest and most powerful people are pushing the socialist agenda so hard?" Because it is about control. Socialism isn NOT a failed economic system. It is a Control Mechanism, and it works exactly as intended. Seekinginformation |

I'm curious to know if any Dems out there have really thought this through. In a truely socialist society, all social classes are "financially equal" -- what that means in reality is that all people will have NO money. Only the very rich and the government will have money. For instance, take a good look at North Korea. The people eat grass and bugs because they have no money for food; nor is there very much food available to them. Does Kim Jong Un look as though he eats grass and bugs? Hell, no! He lives in the lap of luxury. This is what the U.S. is now saddled with after 3 or 4 generations of students not being taught anything but feel-good socialist subjects. Not many have job skills or the desire to work. They want to be taken care of by the government. They've been taught that the government will take care of them so why should they take care of themselves? I pity this country when they are the leaders. I'm glad I wont be here to witness it. "When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change" |

It seems blatantly obvious to me, so I'm curious as to why the Democrats haven't caught on, or are simply in denial. Is there a legitimate left leaning citizen who really thinks socialism can benefit them over the long term? How? Quoting: TheUnknownSoldier No. We are seeing communism at its finest lead the young down a yellow brick road filled with empty promises that will soon mean empty bellies if it's not stopped. Maybe, but in a capitalist society, the people at least have the power to do something about it. Eventually no one was working and the colonists went hungry and the Indians stepped in and fed the morons which gave us a holiday called thanksgiving. Pussy Grabber Extraordinaire |

I'm not sure where you got that but that's not how it has to be. 2. What socialism is is centralized control of economy and centralized ownership of resources. 3. # Schumpeter. Capitalism is great. It works so well markets centralise. We get monopolies. we get oligopolies. It's pretty much centralized control of an industry by corporate shareholders. Or by corporate leadership. Wh It may be more efficient to have everything run by corporations. But is it democratic? Do regular people get, need or deserve a say in how things affecting our lives are run? It's just interesting |
