Nobody wants to overpay, and nobody cares which country it is, it is all about money. US and Canadian IT workers are 10 times more expensive, meanwhile the quality of final products are no better than from 3rd countries.

Of course, if he takes the Infosys job, they will cut his pay by 50% and he will become a "contractor" with no benefits.

I work in the IT field as a US citizen and have experience with both offshore and onshore H1B Indians.

Offshore makes anywhere from ten to twenty thousand a year. My previous job paid just over 100k per year.

Onshore H1B visa gets paid what I do. There is much nepotism. Indian managers most often hire only Indians even if US citizen is more qualified and will work for less pay.

Offshore resources are idiots. Eventually, nearly eighty percent of the offshore contracts fail to realize any savings. Then, the Americans got to fix it all as the systems are screwed up big time.

Verizon said they had not been effected by that problem with the little bitty extra thing put on those chips, in all kind of things. I just assume they just think they aren't because it so wide spread they can not know. I guess they want to be sure someone messes them up. It will cost them more in the long run.

Those worker are temporary, it will not be long before they are turned lose for computer programs to do the work, that why they do not want US workers the fits would be loud and clear.

Yes indeed - cultural nepotism. It ruined IBM.
And it has taken hold in Silicon Valley, Austin and Seattle.
