Re: How many people publicly deny Trump, but privately pull for him?
Just had this conversation with coworkers this morning.
The census was that there are a lot more now than in 2016.
The only reason they have to keep their support quiet is for fear of retribution from employers, etc. Particularly in Democratic cities.
Landslide in November, and even moreso in 2020

Re: How many people publicly deny Trump, but privately pull for him?
I am in a creative field of work and the majority of the artsy types I work with are naturally leftist to the extreme and Trump haters, etc.

I stay as neutral as possible if politics is ever brought up saying both sides are corrupt, etc blah blah blah. But I absolutely support what Trump is doing (if not the man himself). I judge by actions and so far he is keeping his promises and has not come off as controlled opposition... yet. Anyway, if I told people this I would be ostracized and lose my livelihood. (I've already watched it happen to a colleague who became a vocal supporter of Trump during the election so this isn't idle conjecture.)

But then again I've been in the deep end of the conspiracy world since the late 1990s so I have a 20 year back log of research to prove my claims but trying to educate these people to get from point A to point Q to see where I am coming from is nearly impossible. The knowledge gap is to far to bridge now.

Best to stay under the radar for now and keep working.
 Quoting: Twayjay

I'm in a similar situation. I keep well under the radar.

If people knew that I am a staunch supporter of Trump, they would be shocked. The only people that know are my husband, son, my cousin and a few close friends.

Yes, I've also been deep into the conspiracy world for some time. Yes, trying to explain to the uninitiated about claims is nearly impossible. I feel like I could have written your post!

I work for a state agency that over sees multiple Universities and I have to stay under the radar everyday.

The fucking lemmings at this state agency make me want to puke my fucking guts out everyday. Everything that is pushed out to the schools is PC driven and diversity and anti-white male agenda bullshit on a daily basis.

Never mind the anti Trump surveys they push on a daily basis and all tax payer funded which is what really pisses me off.

I can't believe they get away with this shit.
Facts are like kryptonite to the liberal.

somewhat true. which is why this has been such a depressing time for people, even if you arent pro trump, the fact htat your friends and family members could call you a hateful nazi for having a different political opinion than you is.... terrifying.
 Quoting: lj2018

It sure is. But...

It reveals a lot about people you thought you knew though.

I'm way past the dejection.

It's not my issue. It's theirs. Fuck them. I don't care what those people used to mean to me.

I see more than they do cause they're distracted and easily manipulated.

The left has become vicious and vengeful. They absolutely try to get you fired, if they find out, I've seen it. So i fly under the radar and vote for Trump.

Yep. I'm done trying to be reasonable with people who rejected me over my opinions either.

I used to work in a design field and live in Los Angeles. Talk about having to live in a closet. Fortunately, my immediate boss was also conservative (and also from "the tribe", so maybe it was even worse for her, since they all seem pretty liberal at least in L.A.).

And I think everyone in a creative field starts burning out on the stupid people anyway. Eventually, you have to just do your own thing for yourself and your own.

I've tried to remember my perseverance and patience is equal to my wisdom and will to be kind.

But I'm losing my will to be kind after what the free 1st amendment media has done to our society and the people I (used to?) care about.

They are teaching their kids to hurt other kids with this shit and that's the most infuriating thing.

My daughter told me this morning that if you support trump at school you have to keep it to yourself or you will get beat up or picked on. Also called a racist.

THIS IS THE MOST ANGERING SCENARIO OF ALL
 Quoting: Dalton89

Yes’m it is. My ELEMENTARY school son said they talk crap on trump at recess while playing handball. They are children why do they already worry about politics? Times have changed, hold on the ride will be wild.
 Quoting: Vivarium

I grew up in the 70s, and my parents hated Nixon long before he was outed.

I came home one day singing the following:
Jingle Bells
Nixon smells
Congress laid an egg....

My mother smacked me upside the head and admonished against saying anything such.

Boy have times changed.

Me.

Yep, I’m in a creative field, need to eat. Thats why I’m here with you fine people...one of the few places I can be who I am pubilicly. I’m “out” here, but no place else!

Also, you have people like my mother. She hates Trump, thinks he’s crazy and uncouth, is always complaining about him...and voted for him because she hated Hilary more, and would vote for him again. If you listened to her, you’d be like “wow, she’s a crazy liberal!”

Plus, I lie to poll takers; I’m sure many others do too now.

What do you think the number/percent is?

I'm hoping Beto in TX gets stomped like a mudhole and that the polls are wrong due to "fear" of being called out as a Trump supporter.

Likewise in the Governor's race in Florida.
 Quoting: Big Daddy D

how could you Deny him Publicly? stand up and shout it out TRUMP TRUMP TRUMP!
 Quoting: Q33

And get attacked by crazies, losing your job, getting disowned by your family, losing your friends and possibly your wife? Nah. Not worth it. Voting is enough.
 Quoting: Magna Cacca

This is exactly why more don't come forward! I have had both friends and family say they couldn't deal with me for voting Trump and stopped talking to me
 Quoting: GryffindorHouse

Same here. Blacklisted in my job too. Frightening, Nazi tactics. It's a joke how supposedly Republicans are called exactly what THEY (Dems) are. Straight from the Saul Alinsky book on how to be a radical Socialist.
